Midway KY Juneteenth Celebration

It is with heavy hearts that we Honor Ms. Verna “Dee” Mason 🌺
An incredible member of the Midway Juneteenth celebration committee. With a legacy of serving in Midway City Council and most importantly a Generational Community Member.
We have been blessed with her contributions and she will be missed in this community. 💜🕊️Love to her family 🙏🏾 

I’m saddened to share that a pillar of our community has passed onward. Verna “Dee” Mason, former city council member, Midway Museum ambassador, and Midway mainstay, died peacefully in her Midway home this morning.

I’ll remember her for so many things: her love of Midway, her no nonsense way of speaking, her leading the dancing at every block party or festival.

She’s reunited with the love of her life, Ellis, who preceded her in death in 2019.

On behalf of a grateful city, rest easy, sweet friend.
