Elle Pollard Gallery & Studio

Elle Pollard Gallery & Studio Beeswax artist, abstract, landscapes, nature, and photo encaustics. Her studio and gallery are located in Middletown, Ohio.

After working in the photography industry for over 30 years as an award-winning photojournalist, portrait, and lastly a nature and wildlife photographer, Elle was diagnosed with a rare neurologic condition endangering her eyesight. Wanting to find a way to always know her favorite photographs and be able to enjoy them if she would go blind, Elle started to use encaustic wax (beeswax & damar resin)

to build texture atop her photographs. “If my eyes fail me, I will be able to feel the texture and know my images.” She fell in love with the encaustic medium while creating highly textural photo encaustic pieces for her personal collection. “As long as I have my sight and the ability to create work in encaustic, I must share this temperamental, yet fascinating medium with the world.” Elle lives with her 17 year-old son in West Chester Ohio.

Michelle had the studio next to me. She will be missed. Prayers, light and love for her family at this time.

Michelle Harney of Complete Quilting Studio LL4 passed away Monday evening at Atrium Medical Center. She was given a pretty grim diagnosis Friday and the family was preparing for a battle with cancer but God just didn’t want her to suffer and for that they are thankful. Michelle loved her customers, friends, and fellow artists at the Pendleton Art Center. Anyone is welcome to her visitation on Friday 5:30-7:30 at Baker-Steven’s-Parramore Funeral Home at 6850 Roosevelt Ave with a service on Saturday morning at 11 same location.
