Jim Schatz Memorial Trail 10K A 10K trail race to support Boulder Crest Foundation. This race was formerly the Loudoun 10K Trail Run.

We are renaming and continuing the race in honor of our friend and race director Jim Schatz who passed away earlier this year. Jim was an avid outdoorsman in every sense, a generous spirit, and a good friend. Please join us in honoring veterans and in celebrating Jim's life and contributions.

Hey Runners!

Today was an exciting day for JSMT10K! We dropped off the 2021 race check at Boulder Crest Foundation. Thanks to some recent contributions, our total amount raised this year for Boulder Crest was.....$35,724!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who continues to support us year after year. We are so lucky to be able to put on this race with such amazing donors!

To date, we have raised a total of $278,810! We are super hopeful we will be able to hit $300,000 next year!

Normally I'd have posted finish times immediately after the race. This year there was a problem with a disconnect between the bib numbers in the timing app and the check-in list. This is always the challenge without chip timing. I hope to straighten things out and post correct -ish finish times. Thanks to everyone who came out today. JIM SCHATZ MEMORIAL TRAIL 10K

Just 10 days to go until our 9th Annual JSMT10K Race!! Registration is still open and onsite registration will also be available. We look forward to seeing those of you who have run this race since the beginning in 2011, and those of you who are new this year. It's a wonderful event and a great way to give back and support the Boulder Crest Foundation. To date, we have raised over $230,000 and we can't do it without your participation, our sponsors, and all our volunteers who make this race successful year after year. We look forward to having Ken Falke, Founder of BCF, back for our opening ceremony!

The Jim Schatz Memorial Trail 10K race committee has met and it is with great regret we are canceling this year’s race. Based on current health guidelines, we did not feel as though we could put on an event that would be safe for all participants. We will miss seeing everyone this year and we are already looking forward to next year’s race! Until then, happy trails and stay safe!

Hey Everyone! We are looking forward (hopefully) to our 2020 race on November 8th! With coronavirus concerns looming, the race committee is taking into consideration all necessary modifications we will need to make in order to have this year’s race be a success. Since certain aspects are out of our control (health guidelines and restrictions) we plan to make a final “go, no-go” race decision by Labor Day weekend. In the scenario in which we would have to cancel the race, all of those who have registered by that point would have the option to receive a full refund or donate their entry fee to Boulder Crest. All amounts raised through our fundraising efforts will be donated to Boulder Crest, regardless of whether or not we hold the race this year.

We at race HQ are really hoping to see everyone bright and early on November 8th. Until then, happy trails!

Most of you runners who have participated in the race over the years have never seen the amazing facilities at Boulder Crest Retreat. These are 5 star accommodations they provide for veterans and their families. Our race helps to provide greatly needed funding to help them help others. Thank you to the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department. We can’t do this race without you!

A big thank you to the ten Arcola VFD members who came out this past weekend to support the 8th annual Jim Schatz Memorial Trail 10K. Murphy's law prevailed - we were well-prepared so no one needed our services. :)

All proceeds from this race go to benefit veterans through Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness and Pets for Vets. Our department has provided services and declined donations from this event every year since its inception as our way of giving back to those who have served our county.

Race Day is tomorrow, Sun., Nov. 10th! And it's not too late to register. Online registration is open until midnight, Sat. Nov. 9th, You can also register onsite at race HQs. Runner check-in begins at 7:30 along with onsite registration. We marked the course this morning and it looks great! The Loudoun Road Runners will be holding a fundraiser at Black Walnut Brewery on Friday, November 3rd, Leesburg First Friday. All monies raised will go directly to Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness. You can even register for the race and recieve a coupon for $1.00 off beer at Black Walnut.
