If you have been looking for Diary of a Dayworker updates, we haven't forgotten about you!
Diary of a Dayworker 2025 was able to raise over $4,000 for a wonderful cause right there in Ottawa County.
Poets Jay Snider and Kye Rieff went to Miami High School and spoke to students about rural, western, and cowboy culture, as well as the importance of poetry, art, and preserving heritage.
The show itself brought authentic western entertainment to your backyard. The beautiful Coleman Theatre was filled with laughter, knowing nods, and possibly a tear or two.
Visitors from across Oklahoma, out of state, and up to 13 hours away came to Miami, watched the show, ate at restaurants, shopped at boutiques, and stayed in hotel rooms.
We had planned to be back in 2026 with an even bigger and better show. Unfortunately, the pieces are not falling into place for it to happen this year. The amount of time, work, and money that goes into an event of this magnitude can be overwhelming. Our team does not plan to quit, but to regroup and be prepared for amazing show in 2027.
Here is where you come in...
1- We want to hear your suggestions. Dates, performers, ways to grow and expand, etc...
2- We have an amazing group of volunteers, but can always use more. Many hands make light work. If you would be interested in being part of the team, feel free to reach out.
3- We need community support. The 2025 show could not have happened without our great sponsors. We are working to put together some new sponsorship packages for 2027. When your family/group/business sits down to discuss next year's budget, we would love to be part of that conversation.
We hate missing a year. We loved Miami, and felt like Miami loved the show. We look forward to bringing you another top notch performance in 2027. We would love to hear your comments and answer your questions. Let's work together to make the next Diary of a Dayworker show unforgettable!
