Excited to share that four of my photographs were selected for The Guardian's "Week in Wildlife" gallery today, including the leading image that opens the entire gallery!

Great Blue Heron Chicks Growing Fast | Wetlands | Delray Beach Florida

Two great blue heron chicks flap their wings and practice their first flights in the nest at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, Florida, one of South Florida’s best birding boardwalks for close wildlife encounters. Video by wildlife photojournalist Ronen Tivony for Wildlife With Ronen, this intimate rookery moment shows pre‑fledging behavior as the young herons test their wings above the wetland waters.

Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a 50‑plus‑acre constructed wetland and top Great Florida Birding Trail site, attracting more than 170 species of birds, alligators, turtles, and other wildlife, and offering incredible close‑up views from its elevated boardwalk. Nesting great blue herons here often raise chicks right beside the boardwalk, giving photographers rare, ethical opportunities to capture natural behavior like wing flapping, stretching, and early flight practice.
