Thank you, Magic City

Before we started, our friends would tell us, “There’s nothing creative to do in Miami.” Infraculture was our response to prove them wrong. In essence, our ultimate achievement would be our own demise.

Infraculture was born in 2013 to spotlight Miami’s creative side. We partnered with the city’s elite institutions to create a cultural hub, giving locals and visitors a quick and broad survey of the city’s cultural landscape.

Over the last three years, we’ve proudly watched the city mature and cohere, and we are proud to announce the death of Infraculture. Thank you to everyone who made our project possible.

presents Traffic Jam: CARnival this Saturday from 3-5pm. Renegade musician takes over an block-wide parking lot in the heart of downtown Miami to host a populist rally of sorts to include: a and by to strengthen social bonds; a mixed ability dance performance with live musical score created from amplified and processed components of the wheelchairs from ; a gang of skateboarding ukulele players from ; a quartet of choreographed musical bicycles by 1916; and a large scale, interactive xylophone made from automobile hoods and parts by -Chmielenska and . And, the piece de resistance, an automobile choir, where audience members will be provided an intuitive musical score that guides them to play their carhorns, windshield wipers, and headlights. The CARnival is free, open and activated by the public.
