Please forgive the blurry pics. It was lowlight and all I had was my phone and my amateur skill, but I was too excited not to at least try and capture the moment.

Where I live in Florida, you're lucky if you get to see ONE firefly once in a while, and I've never seen more than one at the same time here. (I've seen it in other states, just not in my home state.)

While I was visiting my mom, who lives further south in Florida, I took a walk with my brother. To my delight I was blessed to see a number of fireflies all over the grove.

This is one of those experiences I'll never forget and just had to share.

Good morning,

I hope you know that you are loved this morning.

I love nature. I feel closest to God when I'm in the mountains or out kayaking. My automatic response when I'm out in nature is to worship God because I'm so amazed by the works of His hands.

And yet, with all the majestic mountains, breathtaking scenic landscapes, and magical sunsets, God says that WE are His masterpiece. WE are the apple of His eye. He crowned US with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5).

WE and US, that includes you and me. So just let that sink in.

And bearing that in mind, let's work to be wise stewards of all of God's creation, caring for the mountains, and the water, and the animals, and you and me.

I hope you have a beautiful day today and show yourself some extra love and grace.
