🌙 Painting at night is extremely difficult. The only thing Vincent had to help him was a little gas lamp. It has a greenish effect on the colours. The blues or greens Van Gogh applied on the canvas at night did not look the same when he used the same colours during the day. There was even an artistic rule: you paint by day and you draw by night.

En esta obra, el pintor resalta el dramatismo al enfatizar la brutalidad de los verdugos y la angustia del mártir.
