Prizm Panels
A platform for rigorous dialogue and critical inquiry, the Prizm Panel Series convenes scholars, artists, cultural practitioners, and thought leaders whose work advances contemporary African and African Diaspora arts discourse. Through conversations and film-based engagements, the series fosters a deeper understanding of global Black aesthetics, cultural histories, and emerging artistic practices.

This year, Prizm invites our community to gather in that spirit of renewal, “The Brighter Side of the Moon”. Rather than a traditional fair, we will celebrate the 13th edition of PRIZM through a series of in-person experiences designed to reconnect us to one another and to the possibilities ahead—a week of fellowship, sound, and joy that embodies the heartbeat of our creative community. We open with our PRIZM VIP Reception at The Carter Project Miami, 6 pm - 8:30 pm, an intimate gathering of artists, collectors, and cultural leaders, followed by our high-energy HBCU Social, 9 pm - 11 pm, celebrating the creative legacy of HBCU's contributions to the visual arts. A special Video Installation by St.Louis based award winning visual artist, , will be presented in an immersive 360 experience. Slick Rick, the one and only Master of Storytelling, will join us for a special dedication ceremony for his very own Slick Rick Little Free Library. Curated by x . Along with the De La Soul, Salt-N-Pepa and a soon to be revealed, OutKast library, these works of art showcase how Hip-Hop, graffiti, and visual art continue to move the culture forward through creativity and community.

We are sad to learn of the untimely departure of Koyo Kouoh, a Colossus in the arts, whose unwavering cultural and artistic work has forged new ways of thinking about artistic and curatorial practice that will have enduring impact on our field for ages to come. 2024 was an amazing year for . We're deeply grateful for the outpouring of support for Prizm's vision. We built partnerships that gave our artists and community the event and experience it needed during Miami Art Week. We welcomed our arts community to our new location at Ice Palace Studios, joined forces with Revolt to elevate our vibes and broaden our reach to not just the art community but our community at large, partnered with the City of Cleveland and with the advisement of Rhonda Brown, the , the and the to share the work of 8 talented multigenerational artists from Cleveland, welcomed actor for a private tour of the Fair thanks to the , hosted 4 brilliant panels of emerging and established arts practitioners carefully and intentionally curated by .dc and coordinated by , presented a screening of Can You Bring It: Bill T. Jones and D-Man in the Waters in partnership with the and , welcomed approximately 15,000 guests during Miami Art Week with the support of and their team who provided careful concierge support for our guests, supported 5 museum acquisitions by the in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Detroit Institute of Art , ended Art week with the unforgettable Revolt House party (no one stopped dancing), our Fair Director was featured in as one of 9 women to watch in the art world and made a last dash over to say hi before the Fair closed 💫 Truly, the Architecture of Liberation.

We remain deeply thankful for our exhibiting artists, the ongoing support of the Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs , the Omni CRA , the Knight Foundation , the Miami DDA the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, the , and Prizm's indefatigable Board and our global Prizm Family.
