Update on Documentary YouTube Link!

Hi everyone, I first want to to thank all of the individuals and various AAZK chapters who have watched or even hosted viewing parties for My Grandfather: The Zookeeper. It has meant a lot to see the documentary’s reach and warm reception by so many!

It has been my greatest honor to give the world a look into the world of zookeepers on and off the clock and share with so many why I believe zookeepers are among the greatest people in the world.

I just wanted to advise everyone that in Mid-December the documentary will be coming off YouTube for those sharing the current link, but I want to assure everyone the documentary isn’t going anywhere. It will just be replaced on YouTube with a newer version with a few very minor graphics and end credits tweaks.

I know a lot of zoos have streamed it privately for keeper staff or even done a screening as a fundraiser for their local zoo AAZK chapters and it is so inportant to me to always allow zoos, keepers, and AAZK members and affiliates easy access to the film!

I know what you’re thinking… Whatever happened to that guy who used to always share all that neat Disney history with us. I promise I’ve still been around. For the past few years now I have been working on this documentary film My Grandfather: The Zookeeper. This film takes you back to the very early days of zookeeping at the San Diego Zoo. It tells of a time when women were told they’ll never be zookeepers because they aren’t strong enough, when people got hired into zookeeping only because the last keeper was mauled to death by a leopard, and many keepers were simply uneducated people on prisoner-release programs. In this film you will witness the group who stood up and changed the world of animal care forever.I knew as I got deep into this project I had to shelf a bit of my Disney Record Guy work so I could give this documentary the love and attention it deserves. If you’ve liked my work in the past I guarantee you’ll enjoy this, so its my pleasure to now give you the chance to enter the world of My Grandfather: The Zookeeper.
