Grief is not pretty, nor does it ask for permission. It consumes every ounce of your happiness and never asks when it is time to leave. It takes over your entire being and the person you once were, until you are left standing there, refusing to let go of the only love you have ever known — a love that refuses to let go of you, too.
A love that found safety, comfort, and home in another soul… and without warning, without control, was taken before her eyes.
This picture shows a woman — myself, to be honest — facing one of the worst days of my life. On 2/14/26 at 4:39 AM CST, I was given the worst news I have ever received. No matter what they did, no matter how hard they tried, they could not save you, Gucci. And it broke my heart in ways I still cannot fully explain.
It felt as if the entire world froze in that moment and nothing else mattered. I looked down at you, lifeless, as tears filled my eyes and my heart shattered. And to be honest, the day you left, a part of me left with you.
A part of me will always remain with you, and somehow, I have found peace in that. I may never get you back, and I may never get that part of myself back either, but I know that piece of me will always stay with you, so you never have to truly feel alone, never without me by your side.
From that moment on, it became hard for me to find joy in life. It became hard to even pick up a pencil and create, because all I could remember was that ever since I started painting and drawing, you were always there beside me.
Every art piece I have ever made has carried a hidden print of Gucci — from carving his name into my work, to hiding it beneath the paint, to sketching it into the lines. And that will always continue.
From now on, every piece I create will hold a dedication to my biggest inspiration, the reason I continued art, my love — Gucci.
In addition, I promise to donate half of every piece I sell to research in hopes of finding a cure, so no one ever has to lose their Gucci the way I lost mine.
