Wow! What a week it’s been. I’m so overwhelmed and touched and humbled by the incredible community around me. When we set out to build Lore Ceramics, I knew what we needed. The equipment, the shelving, the tools and all of that. And I knew how I wanted the space to make people feel. Safe, calm, creative. I wanted people to connect, collaborate and lift each other up. And many decisions were made with that in mind. What I didn’t ever bother to think about was what I would feel in the space. There have been moments along this journey that have been overwhelming (in a good way) but none more so than this week. Thank you. Thank you for the surprise birthday celebrations! Thank you for showing up and supporting the studio. For allowing us to expand to twice the space 6 months after opening. For being amazing human beings who welcome our new students into the fold so naturally and continue to challenge each other with new and creative ideas. We have 32 students/members who have been with us since the very beginning, the very first summer. That’s incredible. Everyone needs their third space, their community, their support system. I’m so honored to provide that to others, I just didn’t expect it to become my own too. And I couldn’t be happier about that. Looking forward to so many more adventures with all of you. 40 has never felt better.
