Haunted Wh***ey by T.D. Lang
Synopsis
A young man named Callum sits in a bar that only appears once a year on Halloween to meet a date he matched with on an app, only to be stood up. Instead, none other than Stingy Jack himself serves as his drinking companion for the evening. Little does he know that Jack is far more dangerous and devious than things would seem and Callum’s life may be on the line and perhaps even his very soul.
Character Breakdowns
Stingy Jack (40s, male)—an immortal trickster and larger than life figure who is equal parts brash and charming. The portrayal should walk the line between endearing and prickly with a devious edge. Ideally the actor should speak in an Irish accent.
Callum (early 20s, male)—a callow young man. Callum should be naïve and unassuming with a touch of bravado; ultimately his tragedy is he doesn’t realize what the true cost of emulating or even being around someone like Jack will truly amount to. Any accent is welcome, but the actor should be convincing at playing tipsy.
The Red Cap (ageless/any age, any gender)—a horrible, twisted, hunched over goblin. The creature needs to feel and act like a thing out of a nightmare that would like nothing better than to slit the throat of every person it comes across. This needs to be a physically committed performance; experience in more physical types of performance like Commedia dell’arte or mime is a huge plus
