We would be amiss if our cast introductions omitted this sojourner crucial to our story......meet Kevin Drzakowski as the Aviator!
Q: What’s the most challenging part of your role?
"The Aviator reconnects with his childhood throughout the show, and that's a lot of fun. But he also has to acknowledge the people and the parts of himself that he has lost. Portraying that faithfully means tapping into some of my own memories of loss and some of my own regrets. It's probably healthy, confronting those things, but it isn't always a laugh riot."
Q: What advice would you give to someone seeing the show for the first time?
"I would give the very same advice that's given to the Little Prince himself, and in turn, the Aviator: remember that ‘what is essential is invisible to the eye.’ Keep that phrase turning over in your mind as you watch the show, and you'll catch the most important ideas."
Q: How would your character celebrate after a successful opening night?
"I'm pretty sure the Aviator would draw everyone onstage together, cast and crew alike, holding hands and taking a bow. Then he would show off his drawing to anyone who would look at it, even the grownups who might mistakenly think that it's some kind of picture of a metal chain with a bunch of eyeballs."
Kevin brings depth and heart to The Little Prince, reminding us all to see with more than just our eyes. Don't miss his incredible performance, this weekend (2/28-3/2) at The Mabel Tainter!
Tickets are available online 24/7 at menomonietheaterguild.org, or for in-person
