THIS IS NOT GOODBYE

When you asked me where I saw myself in five years, I had no answer because I chose to live in the moment. But I am sure you deserve better than what I am bringing to the table, and I don't want to stop you from exploring; holding you back won't help.

I'll tell you how much I've missed you in five years. How I long to see you again.

How I've missed your strong cologne embedded in your shirts whenever I sniff them or wear them.

I'll tell you how I've missed our spontaneous love-making around the house, loud moans, skins clapping against each other and how you make me cum.

Oh! I'll tell you how much I miss movie nights with me cuddled in your soft arms till I fall asleep.

I hope you find someone who is better at everything. This is not goodbye.

This is the 5th date I've been on and I'm officially tired.
My mom has literally hooked me up with almost all the sons of her friends from the women's group on WhatsApp ..its exhausting.
I can say I've met the good, the bad and the ugly.

The first time I met jide was on a blind date set up by my “ african mother" who still thinks marriages are meant to be arranged, in this time and age where "Gen z's " go out and mingle only to marry their childhood sweetheart.

Jide is 5'2 and a fine jar of chocolate, with his smoothly carved hair line, you'd mistake him for a 20 year old, he has this baby face so innocent but that man is 30, I wasn't so surprised myself because people also mistake me to be in my late 30s- small 25year old like me !!

I had on a beautiful red gown with a not-too-high slit, black heels and black handbag to match. My makeup was light and I had a pair of earrings to go with my natural hair packed in a bun.
I sighted jide when he came to pick me up from the house, I watched excitedly as he alighted from his white Range rover car , he wore a really nice dark straight jeans with a casual shirt and sneakers.

He was really romantic at first, I’ve always known yourba men to be unromantic and c***y the same reasons they are called “Yoruba demons” but I could feel butterflies in my belly already, he took my hands and opened the door for me and we drove off.

So we went to là restaurant là specialè, it was a beautiful place on the Island and a sight to behold...they had the best foods I almost ordered everything on their menu. I got the spicy Jollof rice with turkey and a cartoon of Chivita orange juice to go with while jide got the standard Ofada rice served on a leaf and a bottle of red wine.

While we ate, we kept throwing glances at each other and I almost accepted the thought of things working out between us , after all he's a pastor and I like godly men. He also made jokes about me (some were really insensitive) like when he said I'd look more pretty if my forehead wasn't competing for space with my eyebrows...that one enter o but I laughed it off because I wanted to be nice.

Few minutes into our food, I noticed something really weird about him.

Man was particular about everything I did, from how I held my fork to how I put the food in my mouth even how I chewed.
"My dear, your mouth isn't supposed to move like that when you're chewing, it makes you look like a goat eating grass" Ah!
Me?? Eating like a goat???

I wanted to say something but was too stunned to speak before he landed me another blow by saying I should have only asked for salads because I need to watch my weight...I'm not even fat.

He tried wiping my mouth with the salvet but I stopped him halfway, cleaned my mouth and was about to grab my drink before he stopped me and said "my dear, don't rush your drink, you could choke..... and that was it, I've had enough so I stood up in anger but tried so much to not create a scene, called the waiter who served us, sorted out the bill and left.

Jide called me 3weeks later apologising for how he acted on our date saying he just wanted me to be comfortable, it was too late because I had another date.

A cure to humanities never ending issues?
A cream for a blemished skin?
A medicine for a botched nose job?
An eye drop for averting eyes?
A lotion for ugliness?
A cream to make you fat; and
A tube to make you skinny?
An ointment for handicaps and broken limbs?
A capsule for anti-aging?
A time machine to go back to the past?
A few lucky chant that makes you rich and famous?
A cure for all kinds of diseases?
A man for all women and
A woman for all men?
A prayer to bring back the dead?
An injection that makes you the smartest person in the world?
A liquid that changes your motorbike to Benz?
A chemical that automatically grows a giant money tree in front of your house?
An injection to make animals talk?
A spray that makes you feel better?
A chemical portion that makes you perfect?
A cure that duplicates every cure ?

What if I tell you that there's an end to war, famine and suffering rendering money essentially obsolete?? What then is the reason for the strive and lack of contentment?

For this same reason, nothing is perfect, no one is perfect, nothing lasts forever and so is no one.

BUT,

What happens when it's all gone?
When the solutions you seek don't come the way you want it?
What happens when greed becomes the order of the day and no one is held accountable??
What happens when it's all fake.

Nothing lasts forever even so nothing is perfect except GOD!

What??? I shouted as I immediately sat up on the bed; Kunle and I rarely agree and the fact that we are in a relationship is a good reason why we should but we don't.
Aha! Kunle why didn't you tell me since naw!!!

I'm telling you now!

You're telling me on a Thursday, 3days to next week?? What am I? Superwoman?? I should make myself super being now because how do I prepare to meet them.

As a potential girlfriend, I ought to show my "potential in-laws" that I'm an "original wife material".

I really don't buy into the idea of ladies who are still in relationships to cook for their in-laws or wash for them or even do anything extra for them when you aren't sure the relationship is heading somewhere; just be you sha.

But I was doing the exact same thing and extra, I'm going to be 30 in 2months , kunle and I have been in this relationship thingy for way too long to be single just like that...abeg make I secure my position before another woman does. I said to myself before he spoke again.

Okay, as I've told you now, what do you intend to do??

Well kunle, as a potential, no! Original wife material that I am, you'll give me some money like 20k to go to the market and get foodstuffs to prepare soups and other delicacies in the house so that your people will not say you'll dating a lazy woman without home training.

20k??? For just soup?? Aha babe isn't that too much stress? Ehn maybe when they come, we'll just take them out, we'll eat out, what do you think??

I think it doesn't make sense at all!! Kunke eat out?? Its your money o! i know but do you want your brother to say "I made them eat out because I cannot cook"? So that when he says that, his wife will now suggest they bring you a wife from the village, a girl that can "cook" Abi??

I've heard you madam, I'll send you 30k so you can buy everything you need and anything else that's needed for the house.

Now that's my baby talking!! Muuuah I kissed him and went back to sleep.

MEN ARE SCUM

Its been 5years with him and you can't tell when something is up.

You too love this guy!! Your friends said to you.
He ought to love you more than you love him! They said again.
You dey take rubbish o! Said another of your friend, one time you caught him cheating.

Yes men can't do without cheating but he can be controlled you said.

Get pregnant for him and you'll see that he'll stay" after all its been 5years of your life and nothing to show for it.

You think about it and you realise you've actually given 5years of your life to a man that beats you at every slightest provocation.

3years to a man that tells you to abort because he says he's not ready.

He's 35, a businessman, comfortable, tall dark and handsome with zero idea on how to treat a woman.

But you stayed because you loved him, he does things to you that no other person does.

He give it to you differently.
Wait! He gives it to you differently?? Babe is that the reason you stayed in an abusive relationship?? You must have been jazzed because D!ck, Tom and Harry aren't just names, they're people too.

A night to your birthday, you plan to surprise him, you did all the decorations, bought cake and wine for yourself , you obviously did not invite your friends to your "birthday dinner" planned by you for yourself and your "man".

LAST TIME

This is the "last time she said"....

That was a month ago when she said it was the last time then 2 weeks ago and now today.

Folake are u cursed??
I asked her because I don't see a reason why she cannot abstain and stay away.

Well, I won't completely blame her its not her fault that I'm well built, bodied, fit and strong , that I have strong arms able to lift her from the floor to the bed.
Also not her fault that I'm handsome, financially comfortable and "BIG".

Not to forget that I'm a good cook, I can make you full for 9months straight, trust me when I say my food is good like that.

Its fair to say I'm a ladies man..

But folake, you should know that too much of everything is bad, we can't have it in the morning, afternoon, mid- evening and evening late at night when the whole neighbours are asleep.

Folake quite a girl, I kinda like her asides the fact that she visit me everyday and doesn't want to leave, she's beautiful.
Folake has got a big and beautiful heart, she definitely is a shoulder to cry on and her heart is always happy to see me especially when we hug...it bounces.

But that's not enough reason to let her take advantage of you...c'mon man! Focus.

"Folake come and be going to your mother's house, they did not swear for you to be in a man's house from morning till evening"!!!!

Is that how sweet it is??

I mean my scrambled eggs with sardine, bread/butter with oats garnished with enough milk, sugar and nuts for breakfast.
Coconut rice and turkey for lunch and;
Egusi and pounded yam with assorted meat coupled with wines and cocktails for dinner.... isn't enough reason to come to my house everyday.
