Many people tell me they’re jealous because I’m a full-time artist.
But would you still be jealous if you had to choose between paying your bills or buying paint — because without electricity you can’t work, and without paint you can’t create, sell, or survive?
Would you still be jealous if you woke up at 5 in the morning and went to bed at midnight… every single day? Not because you’re chasing fame, but because being an artist today means you create art, then reels, then posts, then more content — because “a good artwork” stopped being enough somewhere around ten years ago.
Imagine going to your job, giving everything you’ve got, and at the end of the month your boss says:
“Sorry, it wasn’t enough. No paycheck.”
That’s the reality many self-employed artists face. Not every month… but often enough to keep you awake at night.
This isn’t complaining.
This is the part people don’t see — the part behind the “magic.”
So next time you say you’re jealous of an artist… remember that behind every painting, every print, every post — there’s a whole invisible world of pressure, sacrifice, and uncertainty.
Some of us are not just creating art.
We’re fighting to keep our dream alive...
With love and hope, Karo 🖤
