my beautiful grandmother was called home today. i thank God for every memory we shared. i loved her more than anything.

the mother of my mother. she birthed the woman i call mom.

her closet was the first one i ever explored. she introduced me to the arts. she took me to school. she did everything. she always carried a camera and she always danced.

she was the sharpest and most free woman i knew. strong. passionate. a true aries. a woman of fire and grace.

i will love you always and forever. 🕊️

On the final day of Black History Month, I share Is 28 Days Enough?

I performed this piece during the February 24th Memphis City Council meeting. Standing in that space, offering poetry as harsh truth, reflection, and remembrance, was deeply meaningful to me and a prayer for those seated before me.

Because Black history is more than a month.
It is breath.
It is resistance.
It is legacy within us.

The final day of the Tyre Nichols murder trial by the State. I am devastated.

The fact that the three officers walked away without a single guilty charge is soul crushing. This photo was taken on the two year anniversary of Tyre’s death, and I cannot believe we are standing here today with this outcome. Watching those men exchange daps and long embraces with their attorneys, knowing Tyre will never hold his mother again, is infuriating beyond words.

I am disheartened. I am disgusted. But the fight is not over. I will continue to stand with the Wells family.
My God.

I shared a piece that called for action, recognized our progress, and challenged us to keep pushing forward. I’m deeply grateful. Grateful for my mentor, my best friend, my big sister: . Grateful for my team—we are truly called to do this work. Local elections are often overlooked, yet they are the foundation of real change in our city.

Our mission is to ensure that our people are cared for, treated with respect, and seen not as “criminals,” but as victims of circumstance, poverty, and systemic disenfranchisement. I’m honored to serve, and my heart will always be committed to dismantling the systems that harm our people.

Thursday, I took an oath.

An oath to serve my city to the highest degree. An oath to support my team and each of you as Co-Community Engagement Manager for the General Sessions Court Clerk.

I never imagined that so soon after college, I would step into a role as grand and divinely crafted for me. Those of you who know me, know I love Memphis. You know my heart beats for the 901.

At 23, I am honored to be the youngest Shelby County appointee in General Sessions Court Clerk history. I am equipped by the Most High to serve with integrity and unwavering commitment to my city.
