🏁 RACE RECAP | WYTHE RACEWAY 🏁
📍 Rural Retreat, Virginia

This weekend, the Half Pint Racing Team made the trip to the beautiful 1/2-mile high-banked clay oval at Wythe Raceway.

We unloaded with speed and qualified with a best lap of 18.746 seconds, placing us against a tough field of competitors.

🔥 HEAT RACE
Owen started 5th and drove his way forward to a 4th place finish, earning a transfer spot into the A-Main. The car was consistent and fast throughout the race, posting a best lap of 18.491 seconds.

🏁 A-MAIN FEATURE
Starting 13th, Owen stayed patient, kept the car clean, and worked his way through traffic to bring home a 10th place finish. He gained three positions and continued to improve throughout the race, laying down a best lap of 18.587 seconds.

It’s race day, today isn't just another Modified Mafia race.

Today is a special day as we gather at Potomac Speedway to honor the life and legacy of Wayne "Pop" Lacey through the Wayne Lacey Tribute Race.

Wayne wasn't just the owner of Wayne's Drains. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, sponsor, and one of the biggest supporters of local racing. His passion for helping others and giving back to the racing community touched countless lives.

This tribute is especially meaningful for our family because Owen has dedicated his entire 2026 racing season to his Pop. Every lap turned, every checkered flag chased, and every challenge faced this season has been done with Wayne's memory riding right along with him.

Pop was one of Owen's biggest supporters. He was always there to cheer him on, offer encouragement, and celebrate the moments that make racing so special. While he may no longer be standing at the racetrack with us, his influence continues to guide Owen every time he straps into the #28 car.

The Wayne Lacey Tribute Race is more than a race night. It's a celebration of a life well lived, a legacy built on family, hard work, friendship, and a love for racing. It's a reminder that while we may have lost Pop, the impact he made on this community will live on forever.

Thank you to Wayne's Drains & Septic Service, LLC, Jackie Sirk Lacey, Potomac Speedway, Modified Mafia Tour, the racers, sponsors, fans, family, and friends who have helped make this tribute possible. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and deeply appreciated.

Yesterday we traveled out to Oak Level Raceway for a 2 day feature event with the Modified Mafia Tour.

Race Recap - We qualified 12th overall, started out 3rd in the 2nd Heat. The car was fast and we were in a battle for 2nd when we spun. Worked our way back towards the front, but then got caught up with another car and a guardrail. It took a lot of work but we were able to get the car straight again and we‘re ready to give it another shot tonight!

🏁 Two days, two different tracks 🏁

Friday we made our way to Dixieland Speedway for our first time hitting this track. We laid down a 19.1 during qualifying. The weather had other plans with nearly a 2-hour rain delay, but we stuck it out and made the feature. Started P11 and finished P11 on the night.

Huge shoutout to the crew at Dixieland for sticking it out through the rain and working hard to pack the track so we could get our feature in.

On Saturday we rolled into County Line Raceway for the final race of the weekend — and the rain followed us again 🌧️. Despite the conditions, everyone pulled together and we got the show in. After getting a feel for the slick track, we started P11 in the feature and worked our way up to P9. Set our fastest time yet here with a 15.936. ⏱️

Special thanks to the County Line crew for never giving up and getting the track ready for a great event despite the weather.

All in all, a solid weekend of learning and progress. We’ll keep building and getting better every lap.
