Today's "To Do List":
-Paint saw and shovel
-4 "Little Somethings"
-Drill holes and put another coat of Maker's Magic on the 28 tin signs I started last night
-Begin work on the 8 wood block pumpkins that I base coated.

THIS is why I choose to put my work at Southern Acorn Market and THIS is why I love CharlesAnna and everyone involved with this place so much. Please take the time to read this and please come out and see for yourself.

❤️ WOW… WHAT A DAY. MY HEART IS FULL. ❤️

I’m honestly a little overwhelmed tonight—in the very best way.

After being closed and working so hard to get Southern Acorn Market ready, it felt SO GOOD to open those doors today and feel like we were finally getting back to normal. Seeing so many familiar faces walk through the door meant more to me than I can put into words. So many of you have been with me for years, and somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like customers and started feeling like family. ❤️

And to all the new faces we met today—WELCOME to the Southern Acorn family! I hope today was just the beginning of many visits with us.

A huge thank you to every one of our outside vendors who came and set up today, and to our permanent vendors inside who have worked so hard preparing their spaces and bringing something special to Southern Acorn Market. I am so thankful for each and every one of you.

But most of all, THANK YOU to our customers. You are the reason we are still here. You show up. You shop small. You share our posts. You tell your friends. You encourage me. You support our vendors. And you continue to support this little dream of mine called Southern Acorn Market.

I never want to take that for granted.

Today reminded me that Southern Acorn Market is about so much more than things we sell. It’s about the people, the friendships, the conversations, the laughter, the hugs, and the familiar faces that walk through those doors time and time again.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for loving and supporting Southern Acorn Market. Whether you’ve been with me from the beginning or today was your very first visit, please know how much I appreciate you.

What a wonderful day it was to be BACK. ❤️
My heart is full, and I am so incredibly thankful.

We’re back, Southern Acorn family… and it sure feels good. 🌰❤️

I did several of these pumpkins made from wood slabs last year. These two were left overs and they are now in my booth. Real pumpkins are great and I always get at least one but these will last you for years. I wouldn't put them outside in the rain but they would be fine on a covered porch and certainly inside. The BER Months are here and it's time to start thinking FALL!!!! YAY!!! Southern Acorn Market will be open Thursday through Saturday.

I never ever want to take the talent that I have been given for granted; especially when there are organizations around me that I personally know who do so much for so many. I have decided to choose a nonprofit each month to receive 10% of my sales. I am sharing this to draw awareness to the amazing things that these groups do. Please know that I'm not in any way tooting my horn. This is a small way that I can help and to let those that buy my art know that they are also making a difference. It is the ripple effect.
This month, 10% of my sales will go to Abundant Life Christian Ministry. This amazing nonprofit provides a day program for special needs adults. They have devotions, craft time, fitness activities, snack, a homemade lunch, and go on field trips. This four day a week program meets at the First Baptist Church in Elon and my church, Hebron Community Church, in Mebane. I LOVE visiting with this wonderful group of people and hope to find time to volunteer more often. They have so much fun! You can find out more about them by going to www.abundantlife1010.com

Wow! What a great day at Southern Acorn Market! I so appreciated seeing so many familiar faces that came out and it was great to get some hugs and catch up. Sometimes I doubt myself when I put myself and work out there and when I looked at my booth this morning before the doors opened, I knew that I didn't have nearly enough work. And then I thought "Well maybe I do. What if nobody likes it? What if nobody wants to buy it?" I was so surprised and happy with the way my work was received. But you know the BEST part of the day? I was in a place where everyone was happy and having a good time. I met an adorable little 8 year old entrepreneur named Brynlee who was so overcome by all of the attention and success, that she cried. I made some new friends and met new vendors. As CharlesAnna said, "I know my people. My customers are like family." And you know what? I want them to be like my family too. My bestie, AnnGayle, came out towards the end of the day just in time to see my almost empty booth. As she and I were leaving, she told me she was proud of me. And then she said that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. And I am...and I am grateful.

Well...I am going to have to be done for the day as far as painting goes. I started early this morning and I'm now at the "I'm going to make a big fat mess" stage if I continue to hold a brush. I do love me a pig. This little oinker, along with a larger slate piece, a smaller slate piece, and six more Little Somethings will be making the trip to Southern Acorn Market for the GRAND reopening. Do I have enough artwork? Nope...but it is okay. I have something to build on, unfinished pieces to complete, and brand new ideas to start on.
