Check out these shiny bronze cast seashells! I made them by taking a mold of the original creature, made a wax positive of the shell, and used the lost wax bronze casting sculpture method to bring them to life.

Say it 10 times fast: Sheala sells seashells by the seashore. Now, place an order just in time for Christmas before these babies dissappear. I accept VenMo, CashApp, and PayPal.

I was recently commissioned to make this bronze cast Melting Starfish as eight year anniversary gift, the bronze year! This sculpture is a nod to Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory." I'm grateful to be the one trusted to create such a precious treasure. If you have any gift ideas you'd like to see come into fruition, send me a message and let's figure it out!

There's no job too big or too small; Sheala Dunlap Art does it all! So far, this is the tiniest mural I've painted! It's a male, Anna's Hummingbird that spans 7 in. wide. The original color scheme included grey, black, and a hint of blue in the wings and tail feathers. Once it was complete, the property owner had a change in heart. Due to the optical mixing effect, the contrasting green in the background made the warm grey appear slightly more pink. So we switched up the colors to brown which made it more representational and true to life. I like both, so I shared both. Which do you like best?

And because one spot at Outer Roominations wasn't enough, I also set up an installation representing Kinetic A-Team's 'Malice in Wonderland' art! It was the perfect setting for it!

I just finished painting a window for Auto Repair Solutions on Broadway in Eureka. I revitalized the old three panel design by replicating the owners business card logo and included vital contact information at the bottom. I also updated a double side panel with services offered and a design of my own. The two panel illustration shows business owner, Orion Mosher, inspecting brakes on a vehicle. I deliberately used the same color from the cars highlights as the flesh of the human, demonstrating the connection between man and machine. Taking it a step further, how man becomes the machine that is used to maintain the machines.

I'm so grateful for this experience and this life. If you're local and in need of a good mechanic, I highly recommend this place. He's got great prices and honest service.

Kinetic Sculpture Race was amazing!
In short, here's how it all went down:

Day 1: We finished welding the machine and strapped on our extravagant art hours before the race started. We were the first to break down and never made it off the plaza, so we won The Golden Dinosaur! 😂 We decided to tow our machine to Halverson Park while a handful of us continued to ride the race route (except through the dunes).

Day 2: We were first in line to enter Humboldt Bay for the float test. Thanks to our super sized pontoons, we're were able to fit all 10 of our crewmates aboard the SS Malice! After we passed our float test, four of us decided to take some of the art on the next segment of the race. We strapped the Cheshire Cat, Door Mouse, and a skull to White Rabbit, (M)Alice, and Queen of Hearts bikes, respectively. We made a snack stop on Cannibal Island Road so the White Rabbit could nibble on a chocolate bunny and swiftly made our way to the Crab Park Campout. At camp, we met up with the Mad Hatter and March Hare where more carnivorous cannibalism occurred. White Rabbit and March Hare devoured smoked rabbit at our evening feast! For our night time ritual, we set a Kinetic Chicken / Burning Man hybrid effigy on fire (Thank you Scott Cocking).

Day 3: While three of us rode to Fernbridge, the machine was towed to Ferndale Fairgrounds. From there, White Rabbit and (M)Alice walked the Cheshire Cat and Door Mouse to the Eel River where they swam across for a sweet slice of summertime Glory. After that, we rode to the fairgrounds, switched to our machine, and very gently rode across the finish line.

Bottom line: We made it! We did it! I'm so hooked! Stay tuned for more!
