Last weekend my Dad and I attended Artists Along the Trail at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge. This plein air event features artists set up and creating in a beautiful nature preserve, where visitors can walk around and take in the beautiful sights and watch artists at work.

Afterwards we gathered to present our work, vote for a people’s choice award, rub elbows with other artists and have lunch!

This is my second year in attendance and I am grateful this year it was not raining! We had a great spot out on the observation deck overlooking the Mississippi River.

While family was visiting for the holidays we had a three generation painting session! My Dad, myself and my daughter Courtney. We decided on a photo of the White Shoal lighthouse in Michigan. We had so much fun and I’m excited to do it again when we are all together!

I made license plate signs for the kids’ Christmas presents this year. I had a blast putting these together. I’m looking forward to making more!!

Hi, all. This is KJ. I made these for our wedding celebration back in September. It was my first go at making license plate signs. I used glue to attach the plate letters to the wood. My next attempt I think I will use screws instead to see how that looks. The glue holds well, but it is a bit messy. I also want to experiment with using reclaimed wood as the backing.
