Good morning, friends! 💜

I’m officially in Matthews Alive prep mode, and there’s still plenty to do!

I’ve been going through my Halloween pieces and getting them ready to make the trip to the show. I love this part—seeing all the different personalities come together. Some are spooky, some are whimsical, some have a little sass… and a few are just plain fun. 😂

And after all the tweaking I did to my bat wreath, I have to admit, I’m really happy with how he turned out. 🦇❤️🖤

Now comes the fun part: getting everything photographed, packed, organized, and ready for people to see in person.

I’m curious—when you shop handmade, do you usually have a specific style in mind, or do you fall in love with something you never expected to buy? ❤️

Well, today was another step closer to Matthews Alive! 💜

There’s something about having a show just around the corner that makes you look at your inventory a little differently. I’ve been going through pieces and thinking about which ones I really want to bring along.

And I have to say… the Halloween collection is going to be fun! 🎃🕷️💀

I’ve created quite a few different personalities this year—from spooky and whimsical to a little bit glam—and I’m curious to see which ones make people stop in their tracks.

But I’m also bringing pieces that have nothing to do with Halloween, because not everyone wants a skeleton on their front door! 😂

That’s one thing I love about what I do: I never know what piece is going to become someone’s favorite.

Are you a “bring on the Halloween!” person, or do you prefer decorating for fall without the spooky stuff? 👇

Good morning, friends! 💜

I’m back in the workshop today, and with Matthews Alive getting closer, I’ve got that “there’s still so much to do!” feeling. 😂

I’m planning to bring my Halloween creations along with me, including some of the fun, whimsical pieces I’ve been working on lately. 🎃👻🕷️

One thing I’ve learned from doing shows is that seeing handmade pieces in person is completely different from seeing them on a screen. You can see the details, the textures, the sparkle, and all those little touches that make each piece one of a kind.

And that’s really what I love most about what I do. I’m not just putting decorations together—I’m creating pieces that I hope make someone smile when they walk through their door.

So let me ask you…

When you shop a craft show, what catches your eye first—the colors, the overall design, or all the little details? 👀

I’d love to know what makes you stop and take a closer look!

Good evening, friends! 💜

I’ve been thinking about something while getting everything organized for Matthews Alive…

When I create a piece, I’m not just thinking about what looks pretty. I’m thinking about the person who is going to see it and immediately think, “That is SO me!” ❤️

That’s especially true with my Halloween designs. I’ve got some that are sweet and whimsical, some that are definitely spooky, and a few that have enough attitude to make me laugh every time I look at them. 😂

And honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Your home should reflect YOU — not a decorating rulebook.

So tonight I want to know:

If you were choosing a Halloween piece for your home, would you pick whimsical, spooky, or a little bit of glam? 🎃💀✨

Tell me below — I want to see which personality wins!

Good morning, friends! 💜

Matthews Alive is getting closer, and my studio is officially in show-prep mode! 😂

I’ve been going through my Halloween pieces and getting everything together for the show, and I have to admit…seeing all of these personalities lined up in one place makes me smile.

From whimsical to spooky to a little bit sassy, I love that every piece I create has its own personality. And I’m especially excited to see which ones catch your eye when you see them in person!

If you were walking into my booth at a craft show, would you head straight for the Halloween pieces, the wreaths, or the floral designs first?

I have a feeling I know which section some of you are going to choose! 😉💜

A little behind the scenes… ✨

One of the things I love most about creating by hand is that the finished piece is only part of the story.

There are so many little decisions that happen before a design is finished — choosing the right textures, moving things around, stepping back to look at the balance, changing something that just doesn't feel quite right, and sometimes taking it apart and starting over. 😅

That's the part of handmade work you don't always see in the finished photo.

I never want something to look like I simply put a bunch of pretty things together. I want every element to have a reason for being there and for the finished design to feel like it belongs in someone's home.

That's one of the things I love about creating each piece by hand. ❤️

When you look at a handmade design, what catches your eye first — the color, texture, details, or the overall design?

Halloween has officially taken over my workroom! 🎃🕷️💀

Between Dapper Jack, Moonlight Mischief, Steve, Buzzard, the pink skeleton, and a certain gnome named George… let's just say there is a LOT of personality happening around here right now! 😂

I love creating Halloween pieces because they don't all have to be scary. Some are spooky, some are glamorous, some are a little mischievous, and some just make you smile.

And I'm getting excited about bringing my Halloween collection with me to Matthews Alive!

So tell me…

👻 Are you a spooky Halloween decorator?
🕷️ A glam Halloween decorator?
🎃 Or do you prefer the fun and whimsical side of Halloween?

I have a feeling my workroom might have all three covered! ❤️

I think one of the things I love most about creating each piece by hand is that the finished design is only part of the story. ❤️

There are so many little decisions that happen along the way — choosing the right colors and textures, moving things around, stepping back to look at the balance, and sometimes deciding that something I really wanted to use just doesn't belong after all. 😂

That’s the part you don’t always see in the finished photo.

I don't just want to fill a wreath or arrangement with pretty things. I want the pieces to work together and for the finished design to feel intentional, unique, and like something you’d be happy to have in your home.

And yes… sometimes my work table looks absolutely CRAZY while I'm creating! 😆

When you look at a handmade design, what catches your eye first — the colors, the texture, the little details, or the overall design?

I’d love to know! ❤️

What’s inspiring you lately? 💜

One of my favorite parts of creating is seeing how a simple idea can turn into something completely different once I start playing with color, texture, and all those little details.

Lately I've been thinking about fall decorating and how you don't necessarily need to completely redecorate your home to give it a fresh seasonal feel. Sometimes one beautiful statement piece on an entryway table, fireplace mantel, or front door can change the whole look.

I'm curious — when you decorate for fall, are you more of a “bring out ALL the pumpkins” person, or do you prefer a little seasonal touch here and there? 🍂🎃

Tell me in the comments! I want to know. 😊
