BMX 33 yrs later Now I live in MO and it’s USA BMX & an Ice Cream bike!

Probably crazy but 33yrs later I have decided it would be an ok idea to take back up a sport I did as a kiddo… Growing up in AZ, we traveled and raced the ABA circuit in 87-92, west of OK.

Struggle bus was in the neighborhood today & I Road it all the way to clinic at Spokes BMX. I’m glad I did. I wasn’t great by any means but spending time on my bike is always good. I’ll take the advice given and try again Thursday.

I forgot how much I love racing the guys! As a kid, I didn’t so much like it but now I realize how much faster it makes you. Last night‘s cruiser class was a ton of fun. I’m gonna guess and say the age bracket was 9 to 60+ 😁 so I guess what was fantastic was that I had Canyon who’s an absolute bulldog and is not gonna not take advantage of a door that’s left open and has endless amounts of energy and on the opposite side of that you’ve got grown men with tons of experience and big strong legs who can outpower you any day of the week, but maybe not out last you.

Self check✔️while I i’m still an extremely competitive person, I have to remember that my body might not always be able to keep up with my brain. This round of Bmx is completely different than my last go at it. The element of fun is different. From used to being able to jump obstacles and rub elbows to now being told I wear funny clothes and that’s how they knew i am new (I literally show up in my work clothes ), listening how someone’s little brother wants his race nickname to be pancake, to talking somebody out of the nickname unicorn, to warning the person behind me that I’m not responsible for any strange noise as my body makes when we’re doing block starts, to sharing my camera with kids who should probably consider making action movies …..to receiving an awesome handmade bracelet and having my watchband bedazzled in between Motos. My Umary intake has increased but I am really lovin’ it! My Spokes BMX cronies are bad to the bone 🦴!!!

Been a bit since I took the country pedal. Views are still good and my avg. speed was faster than ever before… time was less…. Nausea was more… note to self, wait longer after dinner before the pedal, pedal, pedal. Get it when you can!
