A semi got stuck on the embankment off of Hwy 22 near Walmart.

They apparently were trying to go around the side Walmart and couldn't make the turn or backup into the parking lot, so decided to make try and it up to 22.

Didn't work. 🤦‍♂️😆

Ilhan Omar, the sitting U.S. Congresswoman of the MN 5th District, had her home raided by Homeland Security Investigations (apparently that's a thing).

This comes two days after Trump tweeted about Minnesotans needing to "fight back" against the Somali population, and Omar calling out his hateful rhetoric.

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day

Mankato, as many cities throughout the country, has its history built around the sins of our founders, and the continued reconciliation efforts of our citizens.

The Mahkato Mdewakanton Association, Makatoh Reconciliation and Healing Horse Ride, Dakota 38 Memorial Run, Mahkato Wacipi (powwow), etc (please feel free to tag others I've missed), are pages and events I encourage people to follow and support.

Throughout the region, our towns, counties, lakes, and rivers are named for, or by native people.

Mni Sóta Makoce is native land.

A large police presence was reported by multiple people near Los Dos Primos and Kwik Trip near Highway 22/Coneflower Lane in Mankato earlier this evening.

No known reason/charges at this time.
