Cue Zero Theatre Company: New Hampshire’s premier theatre organization built on “New,” “Challenging,” and “Growth.”

Cue Zero Theatre Company is dedicated to cultivating and showcasing new works, young directors/designers, and rising actors. Founded in December 2013, The company produced its first show, Project Zero: A Night Of Original One Acts, in July of 2014. Every Cue Zero show will have some

element of “new” or “first time” to it, whether it’s an original script, a rookie director, a different lighting technique/style than we’ve done before, or just something as simple as an actor in a lead role for the first time. The mission of Cue Zero Theatre Company is to support young talented artists on a professional level that need a venue to showcase their work. We were founded on the belief that all young, aspiring directors, designers, playwrights, and actors need support to achieve their professional goals through. We are driven to revolutionize the performing arts scene across NH by focusing on artists and audiences outside of the typical demographics. Cue Zero sets high standards for all projects and we treat every member of our team with the respect and courtesy due any working professional. Every member of a Cue Zero production will be asked to go above and beyond the normal call of duty to ensure productions are top notch. Every project will have an element of “new” or “first time” to it. Every performance must meet at least one of the following criteria. New Director – Director should have no more than seven non-academic directing credits. New Work – First time the play is presented to the public. Original created piece, whether traditionally written or a devised piece. New Actor – Actor in leading role that has no more than four leading roles on his/her resume. New Designer – Designer should have no more than seven non-academic designer credits. New To Us - We will be attempting to do something with the production that everyone primarily involved have not done before. Things like “First time we’ve done Shakespeare” “First Time we’ve done a musical” “First time in 3/4th thrust” are just a few examples of the possibilities for the e-slot .

2. Projects will have a “Post-Mortem Discussion”
a. Since Cue Zero is about younger talent that wishes to grow as artists, every project will have an official post-production meeting where members of the production team, cast, and possibly special guests/advisors can discuss how everything involved with the project went, what we did well, and what we can improve upon in the future. Production team members are required to attend. Cast members may be involved per special request. Production team members are welcome to bring aboard respected members of the theatre community to give feedback on the performances.

3. Cue Zero is about giving new artists the outlet to better their craft and become the future professionals of this business
a. The main mission of Cue Zero Theatre Company is to give opportunities to those who wish to eventually attempt to make a living as a theatre artist. While we focus on “new” and “young” this does not mean amateur or inexperienced. Directors, designers, crewmembers, writers, and performers all must be dedicated to performance arts, be actively seeking to improve their craft, and have prior experience in the world of theatre. Not all members of Cue Zero projects need to be “new and young” however. We encourage respected members of the theatre community to get involved with Cue Zero to help cultivate the future theatre leaders of tomorrow. Working side by side with those who have experience and expertise is vital to the growth of any artist/professional.
