Listed today in my Etsy shop. Shop button at top of my Molly's Pottery FB page. Two “clean/dirty” magnets for the dishwasher, one “dog fed” magnet. I’ve been using the dishwasher magnet for many yrs and it’s saved me countless times from having to rerun clean dishes after someone has mixed dirty dishes with them. The dog fed magnet is new, maybe it can help someone 🐶🦴

WooHoo! Glaze kiln is running and ramping up! This is a snapshot of my kiln app and what it’s doing at the moment. 905° in all zones is awesome. Ramping up to (approximately) 2200°. It will reach that later today, then it will take until Saturday to cool enough to open. Can’t wait to see all the goodies 😊🙏

Glazing the first pieces out of the kiln. This glazing is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours of work. Having some tea now, then I’ll put 3 full coats of a top glaze on each. A green on the tree, and an icy blue with a drippy rim on the heart. Then on to the rest of the kiln load. It’ll probably take a couple of weeks to get through it all. I do love glazing, though. Seems most potters hate it 🤷‍♀️🎨🖌

I needed some flowers to go in my fish vase that won’t make me sneeze 🤧 🌸 🏺 I will glue copper wire into the spot on the back, and stick them into floral foam inside the vase.

A fun fish vase using my new pin from 🐠 I’m already thinking about how to glaze this, and putting it near our 120g saltwater aquarium. My flower frogs fit on it perfectly, too!

I threw a new-to-me clay today and it was quite fun! It throws like butter. I don’t feel grog, which I’m not used to. The supply and labor shortage has hit the pottery industry, so I was forced to find a new clay to try. The shortage of clay and glazes is also driving up prices. We must learn to be flexible during these times. These are ginormous mugs/steins that I’m hoping will hold 20 oz. 🤞🍺

I love the glow of the kiln when it’s over 2000° Fahrenheit. Knowing what’s happening to my pottery, yet knowing there are no guarantees. Once the kiln reaches temperature, it turns off. Then the real waiting begins. I can’t open it until it’s around 100°, which takes my kiln roughly 36 hours. Looking forward to my kiln unloading later today!!
