A new semester is about to begin for Classic Harmony. The group meets at Second Congregational Church in Newcastle on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00 p.m. beginning on September 8. It is led by Beth Preston and Sean Fleming and welcomes singers aged 55+ of all abilities, regardless of previous singing or musical experience (and if you’re under 55+ you are most welcome!). "We formed Classic Harmony in 2023 with about 35 singers. We’ve grown in numbers and popularity," says Beth Preston, Classic Harmony director. "The vibe of rehearsals is very positive and energetic. Everyone is welcome, whether you think you're a singer or not." Music is chosen from a wide variety of styles including pop and Broadway tunes, folk songs and familiar selections from the Great American Songbook. Dues are just $10 per semester to offset the cost of music and materials. Classic Harmony is part of the Tapestry Singers organization.
