What a weekend! Even with the storms rolling through, the 2026 Carrboro Bluegrass Festival proved that you can’t rain on a good tune. Moving the party inside the Cat’s Cradle Main Room and Back Room only made it more electric!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to support Be Loud! Sophie. Because of you, a portion of the proceeds are going directly to support adolescent and young adult cancer patients at UNC Hospitals.

Thank you to all the artists, fans, volunteers, sponsors and the entire Cat’s Cradle staff for making this indoor festival one for the history books. Extra special thanks to Freddie Jenkins for the marathon hosting job.

Mark your calendars now for the 3rd Annual Carrboro Bluegrass Festival Satruday May 29th, 2027. See you next year!

We are thrilled to announce that Freddie Jenkins is returning for his second year as our festival host! 🎤

A true North Carolina staple, Freddie’s roots run deep in the Triangle. From his start as a UNC work-study student in 1978 to his legendary career at WUNC, he has been the voice behind the music for decades. Whether he’s hosting Back Porch Music, tour-managing rock bands, or announcing at the American To***co Campus, Freddie lives and breathes the NC music scene.

Come say hi to Freddie and enjoy the best bluegrass in the state!

We are thrilled to officially welcome Six More Miles to the Carrboro Bluegrass Festival!

Ever since they blew the roof off the Cat’s Cradle Backroom a few months ago, they’ve been our favorite "new" artists on the scene. Since that night, we’ve been locked in tense negotiations to get them on our stage—and while we can’t legally disclose the terms (or which famous artists they’ve toured with in their "past lives"), we finally reached a deal. 🤝

By combining the banjo finesse of the Butner Ramblers, the vocal harmonies of the Hope Valley Rangers, and the driving grooves of the Rougemont Gentlemen, Six More Miles harnesses that raw 70s-era bluegrass energy and injects it with a fresh, local spirit that is absolutely infectious.

If you missed that legendary Cradle set, now is your chance to see why we fought so hard to get them on the bill. Let's give them a massive Carrboro welcome!

There’s "local," and then there’s "The Holland Brothers local." 📍

Living just six blocks away from the festival site, Mark and Michael Holland are fixtures of the Carrboro music scene. This year, they’re bringing their signature blend of old-school country and country blues to the Carrboro Bluegrass Festival!

From Charlie Poole to Charlie Patton, and from the Louvin Brothers to the legendary Woody Guthrie, the Hollands draw from the deepest wells of American music. Their "blood harmonies" and masterful harmonica work have earned them features in Our State magazine, Billboard, and even the NY Times.

If you’re a fan of authentic, raw, and soulful acoustic music, you cannot miss this set. It’s more than a performance—it’s a celebration of our town’s rich musical heritage.

Let’s give the Holland Brothers a true hometown welcome!
