So many thoughts and ideas are running full speed through my head after meeting so many truly fantastic human beings this weekend at the market. It was so fulfilling to hug and appreciate all the neighbors who came in support and spent money on these really talented makers. I created the Cape Porpoise Makers Market as a place for local makers to showcase their work in a relaxed and cozy setting. Atlantic Hall has been the perfect venue for this show and I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a beautiful and iconic space right in our own backyard. I love it so much I joined the Board. Neighbors who had t spent much time in the space were so inspired and full of ideas like dance hall nights for adults and movie nights for the littles with sleeping bags and popcorn... this community craves connection. I think we all do.

Cape Porpoise has changed dramatically (understatement of the year 😆) since I moved here almost ten years ago. I have watched in awe of the Langsford transformation and have yet to have a summer without construction within one lot of me. So many OG Cape residents have left us over the years. I still miss The Troosts, John and Mark. Many young new families with bustling young children have moved into these homes and the streets here are no longer quiet in summer. The sound is different than the echoes of decades passed but beautiful and twinkling and warm. I hear giggling children in my garden in spring hiding painted rocks for me to find. I love meeting neighbors at my flower stand in the morning in summer- locals and from away.

Change is hard and the more humans we have around, the more things will change. I think this community has some pretty special new folks and I am looking forward to spending more time with all of them. Getting everyone together more often would be amazing.
