Here's page one of the 347 letters sent out to all the American Legion, AMVETS, VFW's. etc. Posts in the State of Indiana, to promote the "We the People Mural" at the Mad Hyena Bar & Grill in New Castle, Indiana. It reads as;
Dear Post Chaplain; July 26. 2024
If you are reading this letter, you are one of 347 veteran posts in the State of Indiana that I have written to. All of the American Legions, VFW'S, AMVETS, Combat Veterans M/A, Warriors Breed M/C. ETC. I am also a card holder of the American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City, Indiana and the AMVETS Post 38 in Greens Forks, Indiana where I am a Chaplain of the post.
Being a Chaplain is one of those positions that no body wants to take. With it comes Great Responsibility, Patience and Compassion for his brothers and sisters of the post. Most people don't even know what the term Chaplain came from or what it means. It goes back to the fourth century, and about "Martin of Tours" in France! Martin on his way home from battle, he met a shivering beggar. He cut his cloak in two parts and gave one to the beggar. Legend says that night he had a vision of Christ wearing the part given to the one in need. His part known as a "cappa" was kept in a shrine called "Ca****la" becoming an object of Veneration. French Kings applied the term "Chappelains", which means "Keepers of the Cloak"! On July 29, 1775 the Continental Congress recognized the Chaplaincy as being part of the Army. Now in all branches of service.
With this letter I have sent you a photo of a mural I have been painting on since July of last year. It is called the "We the People Mural". On it from right to left; Business Sponsors from New Castle, Indiana and surrounding areas, the famous painting of "Washington crossing the Delaware", the U.S. Constitution of 1787 with all seven Amendments on both sides of the painting, Patriot Sponsors, Arlington Cemetery painting with 184 tombstones of Congressional Medal of Honor veterans of all races, "Thank You for Your Service" list, continued on the north wall and back patio wall. The firt " Bill of Rights" of December 15, 1791, with all ten amendments, the "Declaration of Independence" of July 4, 1776. And a painting of.........

Update on the "We the People Mural"! At the end of every letter sent to the State of Indiana Chaplains of 347 American Legion, AMVETS, VFW, etc. Posts was this scripture;
Matthew 13: 31-32 31. Another parable put forth unto them, saying, the Kingdom of Heaven is like to a grain of Mustard Seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; 32. Which indeed is the least of all seeds; but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. And I also taped a Mustard seed at the end of the letter. Post page 1 of letter tomorrow!

Update on the "We the People Mural" Of the 347 letters sent out to all VFW, AMVETS, American Legion, etc. in the state of Indiana to get support to this Constitutional and Veteran mural, 10 came back as Return to Sender! As far as I can tell these posts never re-opened after the lockdown of 2020. It looks as if another possible lockdown is coming? Still waiting on more replies of the other 337 posts.
As for my injured groin muscle, they took me off steroids this week and I will be starting Physical Therapy next week to help me to get walking again so I can get back on this project!
Been drafting letters to the politicians of Indiana for their support of this mural. Some it will be a personal letter if they are Veterans!

Special Thanks to the Greencastle American Legion Post #58 for their reply to the letters sent out for support of this Constitutional and Veteran mural at Mad Hyenas Bar and Grill in New Castle, Indiana. Talked to the Post Chaplain twice on the phone and the conversation was very productive. He is not only a Post Chaplain but also a real Commissioned Chaplain! They are spending the next month coming up with a "Thank You for Service" list and sending a donation to help toward finishing this mural! Also special thanks to the American Legion Riders of Post #58 for jumping on board and giving this project their support!

Update on the "We the People Mural" Finally went to the doctor at Reid Medical about my torn groin muscle ! They got me on strong steroids called Prednisone to help this injury along! Can't climb a ladder and barely can walk for awhile! Don't know how long it will be before I start working again! It's a serious injury!

Mural Update! Still lame with my leg injury! But not sitting idle! Been getting some 500 letters together to try to get support for this mural! Most people on here doesn't know, but I started this mural a year ago! There was no grant for this mural and has been very difficult putting this together! Sending letters to all VFW, American Legion and AMVETS in the state of Indiana (347 Posts). I am a card holder for the Legion and AMVETS where I am also a AMVET Chaplin . The letters will go to the chaplins. The rest of the letters will go to all the state house of Representatives. the nine congressmen and women (3 are vets), governor and Senators. Will be interesting to see which will answer my letter? Should have these letters out by this weekend!

Somewhat of a delay on the mural! Past two weeks been working with the help of a hiking pole because of a leg injury! Me and my wife went to Richmond and bought a walking cane so I can get around! Don't know of the seriousness of the injury yet and give it another week then go to a doctor to have it checked out! As of now it is too painful to work on it!
