10/17/2016
As the curtain has closed on the (2nd annual) Lakeside Short Film Festival 2016, we would like to take a moment to thank all those that helped to make this year's festival a success.
Thank you to our sponsors, Teddywedgers and Living Storm Productions, and to the staff of both, who worked diligently before and during the festival to help make it enjoyable. The Teddywedgers pasties were a welcome and delicious addition to the afternoon.
Thank you to our venue, the High Noon Saloon and its friendly, hard-working staff. We've shown and seen many a film there and know how nice it is. But it was even more satisfying to hear festival attendees compliment the location, noting it's intimate, laid-back atmosphere for an afternoon of films.
Thank you to all of the filmmakers who submitted their films. There were some difficult decisions to make. We wish that we had been able to screen everything submitted, but there just wasn't enough time. We hope to see you next year!
Thank you to the filmmakers, (cast and crew), that were able to attend and represent their films. We all know how nice it is when festival attendees can put a face to a name/film, and pose questions of those responsible for the films.
Thank you to all those attendees that came in from the drizzle and honored all of the films and filmmakers with their presence. Festivals cannot succeed without warm bodies in the seats. You were a wonderful audience, and you asked some great questions during the Q&A sessions. Thank you also for filling out the feedback surveys. We will be looking over your comments when planning for next year's festival.
A special thank you to Michael Keeney who, though by no means obligated, asked, "What can I do to help?," once festival organizers started showing up. And help he did...

Now, for those that were curious about the results of the Audience Favorite award... After the ballots were tallied, we had 2 films tied for 3rd place, "Another Empty Space" and "Smile, Baby," directed by Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro and Lauren Barker respectively. The runner-up was "Looking for Trouble," directed by Caroline Cuny & Bryan Campbell. And our Audience Favorite award went to "47 Minutes," directed by Austin H. Wilson. Congratulations to all!
See you next year!!
