The Lake Loop Art Tour Annual art tour around Lake Monona in Madison and Monona, WI on September 19th. Working artists host guest artists at their homes and studios.

Patrons are encouraged to bike or drive to each stop and enjoy a day meeting artists and supporting the arts.

Our final featured artist is Jackie Matelski, a Wisconsin-based studio potter creating modern stoneware pots inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and the landscapes of the Upper Midwest. Guided by sustainability, color, and joyful processes, she makes functional pottery that is durable, inviting, and meant for everyday use. Time spent gardening, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, and exploring wild places inspires work that brings connection, memory, and the contemplative feeling of being in nature to everyday rituals at home.

Jackie is one of the amazing coordinators for this 2nd annual Lake Loop Art Tour! Find her at 4201 Drexel Avenue in Madison! This Saturday, 10am-5pm.

In the spotlight today is Rachel Imsland, who writes: “I am drawn to the beauty of imperfection and simplicity. I create a variety of minimalist and elegant hand-built vessels, often balancing geometric structures with soft, organic lines. My sculptures are an ongoing exploration of how form, space, and emotion coexist within a single object. Each piece is an exploration of balance, process, and the beauty of becoming.”
