That’s a wrap on our inaugural Mad City Players Musical Theatre Mini-Camp! 🎭✨

In just about 3 hours a day for 4 days, our campers learned SO much and ended the week with a family showcase performance of Take It From the Top, an original mini-musical r***e written by MCP’s very own Dana Herwig. The show included 5 scenes and 5 choreographed, wonderfully performed songs, and our campers truly shined! 🌟

We are so thankful for our MCP team, who worked diligently on writing, directing, choreographing, designing, teaching, coordinating, and so much more to make this camp possible.

Most of all, we are incredibly appreciative of our camper families for sharing their amazingly talented, brave, and hard-working children with us this week. 💜

Day 3 of Musical Theatre Mini-Camp is complete! 🎭✨

Today’s theme was SHINE, and our campers did exactly that! 🌟 They did improv activities, learned musicality cues and theatre terms in Theatre 101, ran through 4 songs and 5 scenes, and blocked and performed the final scene of our mini musical! 🎵🎶

They are doing amazing, and we can’t wait to finish choreography and perform for our campers’ families tomorrow! 💙

Day 2 of Musical Theatre Mini-Camp is complete! 🎭✨

Today’s theme was CREATE, and our campers brought so much imagination and energy to the stage! They played improv games, learned about blocking and stage direction in Theatre 101, ran lines, and practiced two scenes with blocking, songs, and choreography! 🌟

It was another busy, creative, and fun-filled day, and we can’t wait to keep building tomorrow! 💜🎶

Day 1 of Musical Theatre Mini-Camp is complete! 🎭✨

We had SO much fun kicking off our week with our Day 1 theme: BELONG. 💜 Campers played improv games, got to know each other, learned Theatre 101 audition etiquette, received their roles, completed a script read-through, sang all of the show songs, and learned choreography!

It was a busy day full of fun, friendship, and creativity, and we can’t wait for the rest of the week! 🌟🎶

To answer a frequently asked question about who can participate, Mad City Players is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and independent community children’s theatre, not affiliated with any specific school, school system, church, or organization. We’re excited to welcome children from across the community, no matter their school, background, ability, or theatre experience! 🌟
