Carrie Voigt Schonhoff ✨ Author | Poet | Musician | Songwriter ✨
Out here just sharing my art with the world. LiminalArtistry.com Hello, dear reader.

I'm Carrie Voigt Schonhoff, a poet and author rooted in the heart of Wisconsin. Alongside my two adult children, Sydney and Austin, and our spirited Italian greyhounds, I’ve made it my mission to bring light and connection into the world through the power of poetry. Widowed in 2012, my journey through loss has shaped much of my work. It taught me to embrace vulnerability, cherish resilience, and find beauty in the spaces between—truths I share through my writing. I’ve self-published two poetry collections, The Liminal Space and The End of the Beginning, both written for those navigating life’s challenges while holding tight to their dreams. These books explore themes of healing, transformation, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again. At their core is a belief that poetry can be a bridge—helping us connect, understand, and find comfort in one another's stories. My work has appeared in the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets' Calendar, Bramble Magazine, The Solitary Plover, and Spirit Lake Review. Beyond the page, I’ve taken my poetry on a national and international book tour, sharing stories and verses across borders. I regularly host poetry jams at local elementary and middle schools, inspiring young voices to find their own creative rhythm. My passion for music has led to the creation of original songs, some of which I perform live—blending spoken word with melody. Whether traveling to new cities or performing on stage, I find joy in the intersections of poetry, music, and human connection. Words can’t describe how excited I was to see my editor and friend, , IN PERSON! It had been years since we’d seen each other outside of a screen, and this reunion was long overdue. Thank you for making the time to visit, Simon! Let’s not wait quite so long for the next one! 😁

In my new blog post, I reflect on the life of my sweet Teddy and the grief that continues to walk beside me. To my friends and family, thank you for the love and kindness you’ve shown. He was such a good boy who loved us unconditionally, and we will forever be grateful for the joy, love, and memories he gave us. 🙏💕

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗱. 🐾

Our hearts are heavy, but we’re so grateful for all the love, laughter, and memories he gave us. We know he’s up there playing with Chip now, just like old times.

You were so loved, Ted, and you’ll be missed more than words can say. Run free, sweet boy. 💙

A special thank you to his dog sitter, Lindsay, Wyllow Pet Hospital, and the staff at UW Vet Medical Clinic.

In mid-September, I went with friends to see at the Kohl Center in Madison. It was my first time seeing them and they did not disappoint! We had floor tickets and there was a big gap between us and the seats in front of us. Of course, we didn’t think anything of it until people from the venue started using their headsets and bam! The band came right by us and did an acoustic set about 10 feet from our seats. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩!

Just got back from two unforgettable days in Chicago visiting my friend Adie and seeing Sara Bareilles at the Chicago Theatre! 🎶

Sydney and I were lucky enough to be part of a Q&A before Monday’s show, where Sara spent 30 minutes talking with us, hearing our stories and answering questions. It was such a touching experience.

I brought along my poetry book, ‘The End of the Beginning,’ hoping I could give it to her—and at the very last second, I did! 📖✨ I hope she reads it, but I’m simply grateful I got the chance to put a copy in her hands. What a special memory! ❤️
