This painting has found its home.

What moves me most isn’t just that she loved the piece…
it’s why she loved it.

She’s been reading my work, letting it land, letting it shift things in her life. And somewhere along the way, something opened.

And this painting spoke to that moment for her.

I’ve always said there’s a silent conversation that happens…
between me and the person on the other side of my words, my work, my art.

And now that conversation gets to live on her wall.

Honestly, there’s nothing better than that. ❤️

There’s a moment in life that doesn’t get talked about enough.

It’s the moment when everything finally quiets down.

The noise.
The expectations.
The constant hum of who you were supposed to be.

And you look around your space… and it’s calm.

Not empty.
Not lonely.

Just… yours.

This painting was born inside that kind of moment.

At first glance, it feels peaceful. Soft turquoise. Gentle movement. Space to breathe. The kind of piece that lets a room exhale.

But stay with it a second longer.

Those bursts of red aren’t decoration.

They’re what’s still alive.

They’re the part of you that didn’t get dulled by time.
The part that still feels deeply, loves color, notices beauty, and refuses to disappear just because life got quieter.

That’s what I painted.

Not a landscape.
Not an abstract idea.

A state of being.

A life that looks serene on the outside… with something vivid and awake still blooming underneath.

This is the kind of piece that doesn’t just “match your decor.”

It changes the feeling of a room.

It gives you something to sit with in the morning.
Something to glance at in the afternoon.
Something that reminds you, quietly, that you’re still here… fully.

The original painting is available.

And if it’s speaking to you, don’t overthink it.

You already know why.

A small moment… that turned into something I never expected.

Years ago, I brought an 85-year-old woman a simple kitchen tool—and watched her come back to life right in front of me.

It wasn’t about the object. It was about remembering who she had been.

Sometimes the smallest things reconnect us to the part of ourselves we thought was gone.

✨ You’re not starting over. You’re remembering.

Maybe we’ve been chasing the wrong thing all along…
not the dream itself… but the feeling we thought it would give us.

We did not survive this long to become a lump on the couch.
I put on 70s music
My body remembered before my mind did.
I’m still here.
And I’m not done yet.
Are you?

You didn’t forget your dreams.

You adapted.

There’s a difference.

You’re retired. Now what?

But you've been absorbing that message for years. Here's how to reject it — on your own terms.

A Little Note About Grace

Not every day is a build-the-empire kind of day.

Some mornings, you wake up ready to write the chapter, launch the idea, send the pitch. And other mornings? You wake up, look around, and think, "Nope. Not today."

That doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re human. It means your energy is shifting. It’s asking you to pay attention.

Maybe today is not the day for doing. Maybe today is the day for soaking in the tub. Or pulling out that book you keep moving from one corner to another. Or sitting quietly with yourself and letting your thoughts settle like snow in a globe.

The work will still be there. The vision is still alive. But your nervous system might need a softer touch today. Your spirit might be asking for a little stillness. A little space. A little grace.

And the beautiful thing is that you get to give that to yourself.

This is the gift of a life lived in tune with your own energy: You don’t have to force it. You don’t have to perform through it. You get to pivot. Recalibrate. Choose something gentler.

Not as an escape, but as a devotion.

So if today turns out different than you planned, bless it. There’s magic in the surrender.
