Noodles Magoo Noodles Magoo - A Rock 'n' Roll Time Machine! We play all your favorite classic and modern pop and rock hits from the '60s and beyond!

Getting to know the band:

Ray Sala, Drums - Ever since Ray can remember, music always triggered something special in him. He always had a sense of rhythm but it was discovered at 8 or 9 years of age while onstage with a local brunch house band on a Sunday afternoon in Miami! Ray would have to say his favorite band is Rush, with Xanadu as his fav song. Funny music/concert experience - At the end o

f an Alice Cooper show in Sunrise FL in the 80's, a fake, 4 ft. boulder prop was kicked to him from the stage after the last song of the night. Needless to say, it was hard to hide and when walking out --stagehands grabbed it! Chris Cook, Guitar and Keyboards - There have been so many guitarists that influenced my playing. Early on was Glen Buxton (Alice Cooper), Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa. Moved on to bands like Pink Floyd (love me some David Gilmour), Genesis, Marillion and other prog rock bands as well as the standard hard rock stuff like Van Halen, Scorpions , UFO, etc. Picking up keyboards this late in life has been interesting. The learning curve is the technology though. You don't just play them, you have to program them, etc. Tom O'Cull, Guitar - Tom's Influences: Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Rush, SRV, the 3 Kings, Ledbelly, Led Zeppelin, all the great guitar players. Tom's first guitar: 1963 Sears Silvertone with amp in case, I still have it. Tom's Path followed: I took a few lessons when I started & didn't like how the teachers were presenting guitar to me so I stopped lessons & I am mostly self taught. Tom's bands & playing experience: Tom started playing back in 1977 (11 years old) when he found the Silvertone buried in his parents' closet. He never let them put it away and bought his own guitar when at 16. A few years ago his folks gave him the silvertone to add to his collection. Tom started a band with his best friends while still in high school & was in a couple others through his 20's but none ever got very serious. In the early 00s he met up with a high school friend and formed Black Widow Stew, a hard rock progressive band & played a lot of shows in the Chicago area. In 2012 he moved to Tampa and met Chris Cook about a year later, they have been guitar partners ever since and have become best friends. There were a few attempts at putting bands together & went through quite a few musicians to end up where we are today with Noodles Magoo. The path to Noodles Magoo: It was a narrow rocky path that lead a long way through forests, desserts, rivers, lakes & dark dingy caves that lead to an open grassy field with cats, pine cones, a camp fire & the four other souls who have become Tom's colleagues, friends, brothers & sister & fellow scary individuals with a common goal to play the best music and have as much fun doing so as "legally" possible.
