I ALWAYS had a radio around... [This is only one of them]
Listening to my beats and testing the waters with my crew to see what they'd think of them. Making Mixtapes etc, BTW if you don't know what the "DissTape" is, let me quickly tell you we sold hundreds of them, those were tapes where we actually dissed the purchasers of the tape by name or by other means. It was a unique way of reaching our audience and making sure they had fun listening to the tapes, AND IT WORKED! $20-$30-$40 a pop!
We also were known for making tapes and fading in and out of songs and switching the lyrics to them to suit us and the listener. It may not have been just a LOWER EAST SIDE thing, but we were definitely good at that s**t!
Lower Deck, LES, The First Boro, from Smith, to The Hill to The Ave, we did that s**t with nothing but love... SALUTE!
