Dreams Intertwined - A Lowell Area Schools ArtPrize Installation We want to bring the community together towards a common goal of understanding one another

Since 2008 the Lowell community has come together to fight breast cancer in a large event called Pink Arrow Pride. Millions of dollars have been raised to support the cause and those suffering in our community by selling t-shirts. We want to bring the community together towards a common goal of understanding one another. We will have planned events in the summer in which community members and stud

ents will be asked to share the hopes and dreams they have for their community and themselves. Pink Arrow Pride T-shirts of years past will be cut up in strips, decorated and written on. Community members will be asked to share their hopes and dreams for the community on the t-shirt strips-whether visual, tactile, or written. Community members will gather safely outside to weave these dreams strips into a single rug. The piece is both a final product as well as a time based installation. We will be documenting the process in the form of a video to be viewed along with the finished rug.
