Calling all 2D artists! We've got an opportunity to share with you from City of Loveland Art in Public Places The image shown is "Of Land and Water" by Marie-Luise Vaughn (currently on display through TAAP)
Loveland Art in Public Places is accepting applications for the Art Advocacy project, commonly known as TAAP 2D. This project is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists through the public display of their artworks as well as provide a means for artwork sales. The selected artwork will be showcased in the Loveland Public Library’s Central Galleria from February 2023-February 2024.
The 2023 display has a new twist as Art in Public Places will collaborate with the Loveland Poet Laureate Committee and the Public Library to add a poetry component to each artwork. Additional programming will be also added to enhance the exhibition. Organizers believe the addition of poetry to this artwork display adds a wonderful component to this annual exhibit.

Women all over the country spent decades organizing and petitioning for the right to vote, and it wasn't until 1920 that the 19th Amendment was ratified and guaranteed them of that right. 🗳️ 🇺🇸
Today on National Women's Equality Day, we celebrate these trailblazers who fought to create a better future for their daughters, and recognize that there is still work to be done to fully achieve gender equality for all. ✊
Last year, we were honored to dedicate Loveland artist Jane DeDecker's sculpture "Every Word We Utter" at Foote Lagoon — a sculpture designed to create a tribute to the women's suffrage movement.
"I really want to inspire younger women by celebrating the lives of the women that came before them," said DeDecker.
🧠 Did you know? Colorado became the first state to award women the right to vote by popular referendum in 1893, a full 27 years before the 19th Amendment was ratified. The following year, three Colorado women became the first women to be elected to any legislature in US history.

Over 200 people from the Loveland community participated in a paint event last month, working alongside Anón artists Jhonattan and Samantha Arango.
The mural, aptly titled "Message in a Bottle," visually demonstrates the benefit of recycling efforts as well as illustrates the transition from “trash” to “reusable” materials.
"Each triangle within our work tells the story about how each one of us plays an important role in the big picture," Samantha said.
This is the first public artwork installation at the Loveland Recycling Center, and it was made possible through a partnership between City of Loveland Art in Public Places and Public Works Department.

So pleased that three NSG members have had sculptures selected to add to the City of Loveland’s collection at Benson Sculpture Garden this year. One of the best sculpture gardens in the nation is in our backyard and is filled with lots of our artists’ work. If you haven’t seen it, come visit!
Posted • In early February 2022, the Loveland Visual Arts Commission approved the gracious donation of the six new sculptures for the Benson Sculpture Gardens by the Loveland High Plains Arts Council (LHPAC). This year’s selection of artworks continues the legacy of sculpture contributions to the Loveland community.
