We have us a restoration project in our shop!
Made in Germany this Solingen folder is copper and steel, keeping its originality after 48 hours in a salt/vinegar bath it works perfectly, ready for a face-lift
Updating my website today! More to index, edit and characterize later, looks good on the computer but the phone app not so well

Dill Custom Knives is a custom knife make in Loveland, Colorado, one hour north of Denver, but we make knives for people all over the world. Some of our clients are famous celebrities, but we'd like to make your next knife.
We really liked the pictured knife at this stage, custom made for a MLB pitcher
Unfortunately after this shoot a disgusting poor quality Elk tooth got inlaid on the handle of this knife by someone else 😕 which destroyed the asthetics and beauty of the piece
Here is a Friday flashback!!!
Anyone have any idea who this celebrity Robert is snuggling up with?
We are still alive and kicking here at DCK's, Robert spent most of the month of April in the hospital. But he is home now!
It is an uphill battle at his age after being confined to a bed for a period of time. His voice is stronger than it has been for a couple years, and he is ornery ;)
Priorities have isolated us from the knife business for a bit, but we hope to be back soon with new pics and a good story 😀
Hello people, thank you for being here working hard, doing inventory, finishing up a number of projects we are behind on preparing for the summer :)
Soon we will continue on our journey posting photos and having fun :)
Getting suited up for a live broadcast :)
We did this knife awhile back and tend to reprise this engineered differently. A great usable knife, easy to carry fitting the hand, not to small, just the right size :)
Here is a cute one designed for a friend!
Flashback Friday!!! This one was done for a client in Georgia years ago, sure do miss doing these carved stag handled knives
Well, well... What do we have here? There are only a few of these left out there, wish we had some now ;)
Another about to get buffed out, cleaned up, then off to the scrimshander after getting a logo and good edge
Beautiful work done by Jim Clayton on this duck call going to Nashville in a couple weeks for the NWTF- National Wild Turkey Federation, National Convention at the Ga***rd Opryland Gold Ballrooms
Alot of fun with great people and entertainment, nearly 60,000 people in 4 days at NWTF
A couple art knives heading over to our scrimshander tomorrow!
Working on a duplicate of this knife, originally done for the NWTF!
We did knives for employees of Wi******er at one time :) Loved these knives!
Well, well...a short stack to start!
My bench is full of fun things to work on this time of year 🥸
These Quail Unlimited Knives we did sure were pretty!!! Carving done by the late great Jim Anderson RIP

We did knives with baseball bat handles for a number of MLB players, this one being for Jim Thome a friend of Dads Robert's :)
We did a number of these years ago, until the price of steel went up and people did not want to pay for it :)

Next step is to heat treat these 8 blades, but first... ;)
First grind! It is a start :)
Another group cut and profiled, ready for a date with the grinder!
;) Did someone say knife repair? These 2 were ran over by a car ;)
We put new handles on these to clean them up, and sharpened this set of sentimental knives for a client
Looking back! Anyone remember these knives we did?
This is a 2009 Country Goes Hunting Knife we did for this celebrity hunt, love it... :)
Guess what we are doing today?
Teach me how to make knives! What kind of a discount can you give me since we have known each other for 50+ years?
This is another example why my answer is always the same! There is a school in Trinidad that teaches knife making, and the same discount I give everyone else!
My Dad always fell for all the rhetoric dealing with users, abusers and crooks! Business is business, and making a custom knife is more labor, time intensive than the price reflects, it is an art!
The knife pictured in this post was made for a HS friend, all my labor was free, the scrim alone on the handle cost more than this person paid for the knife
A couple weeks after this person accepted the knife we get a call from a collector in town, he had bought a DCK at a local pawn shop and wanted it appraised! It was the knife we put our time, monies and labor in designing, making and presenting to this HS friend
Lessons learnt! We don't teach knife making, and if your looking for a discount, shop your local Dollar Store or Walmart!
One of 2 we are producing for a friend who is the scrimshander on both :)
Designed for the Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation!
Made for Ryan Klesko and the Blue Ryno Foundation a few years ago!
