Creating community theatre, original stage plays, musicals, and multimedia - film productions. Hey Milly Theatre is a community-rooted, artist-centered company committed to creating bold, imaginative storytelling for audiences of all ages. Founded in honor of Deaconess Mildred “Milly” Holloway — whose love, faith, and belief in unity shaped generations — our mission is to build a creative home where children, teens, and adults of all races, backgrounds, and identities can experience the magic of theatre. We produce a diverse range of work:
🌟 Original Black fairy tale comedy-dramas like the A Johnson Family Witchmas franchise.
🌟 Inclusive family and children’s theatre such as Once Upon a Time in Oz and Wonderland, featuring casts from all racial and cultural backgrounds.
🌟 Community-driven productions that honor heritage, celebrate imagination, and uplift underrepresented voices — while welcoming and showcasing talent from every community. Hey Milly Theatre is committed to:
🌟 Representation that matters — uplifting Black stories and q***r stories while also celebrating a multicultural ensemble of artists, ensuring every child and adult sees themselves reflected onstage.
🌟 Accessible opportunities — offering paid roles and hands-on training for emerging local artists, young performers, designers, and crew members.
🌟 Family, unity, and healing — creating stories rooted in love, growth, and generational connection, inspired by the founder’s own journey of resilience, sobriety, and rediscovered purpose.
🌟 Joy and creativity — blending comedy, drama, fantasy, and cultural imagination into productions that spark wonder for both children and adults.
🌟 Legacy building — honoring Milly Holloway’s belief that every child and every family deserves encouragement, compassion, and a place where their gifts can shine. At Hey Milly Theatre, we believe theatre is for everyone — all ages, all identities, all stories — and that community magic happens when we learn, grow, and dream together.
