In 2017, while in Phoenix with nothing but sunshine, free time, and a plan to put my name in a bag, I wrote a story for the Moth Story Slam in Louisville.
I wasn’t even sure I would get called.
I did. As the last teller on the last day of Black History Month — the same BHM Beyoncé broke IG announcing her twins — I walked off that stage with a win and a door I didn’t know existed wide open in front of me.
Almost 10 years later, I’m not done. I’m just getting started.
This summer I’m bringing that same energy — the ALL-IN framework, a complete 75-minute storytelling + writing workshop — to Louisville summer programs serving grades 4–12. For free. In exchange for honest feedback and the chance to open that same door for kids who have a story to tell not only in the future but RIGHT NOW!
Spots are limited. Form closes June 25th.
If summer doesn’t work — fill it out anyway. The form is built for future partnerships, too.
To everyone who shared my last post: thank you. That means everything. Please keep sharing — tag a director, a coordinator, a teacher, a program, an org, anyone who needs to see this. You never know whose door this opens next.
