Gooooood morning gamers! It's officially time for LANWAR 76!

We want to thank our wonderful sponsors with a quick shout-out! This event's sponsors are Sapphire Gaming, Fractal Design, Apollo Automation, Elite Computers, and Warframe. These folks help support LANWAR by donating items for giveaways and prizes, attending each event, and hosting their own meet-and-greets or other events! We are so grateful for everything they do for us. If you see them around the event or online, be sure to thank them for their continued support and give them a follow!

Hi gamers! We have some additional updates to parking.

In case you missed it, yesterday afternoon we shared that the online $6/day pass for blue/green/yellow surface lots around UofL is no longer an option for parking. It turns out that in addition to this, the north entrance to Floyd Street Garage (the one that faces Starbucks) is currently closed due to construction. Unfortunately, we were not informed of this and only found out from attendees (thank you!!!!) after we shared the previous update. The only open entrance for that parking garage is the south entrance (the one that faces Floyd Street).

While construction should be done by Friday, another event has the north side of the garage reserved. All weekend, we will only have the south side of the garage. Thankfully, the south entrance will have hourly parking available on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, like the north entrance usually does. Saturday, the south side of the garage will be open all day with free parking. Unfortunately, if you stay past midnight Saturday, you will have to click "lost ticket" and pay the $20 to get out Sunday. We know this is not ideal. Please know this is out of our hands and we are just as frustrated.

For those with a weekend pass for the south entrance (Option 1 - $24), none of this will apply and you can still badge in and out like you normally do. Remember to get this Thursday or Friday 8am-5pm, or have a friend get you one. This is the option we highly recommend, especially given these circumstances.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We know this is all different than it normally has been and is confusing. Message a staff member if you have any questions - we're here to help!

Good morning gamers! We hope you're ready for an epic weekend of gaming, friends, and fun! Setup is this afternoon beginning at 12pm EDT. If you can make it, even late, please come help! More people means setup goes quicker, and you even get an extra raffle ticket for the raffles on Sunday at teardown.

For those who aren't local and don't know, five miles of Interstate 65 have been closed this summer. This includes:

- I-65 North from mile 136 (Jefferson Street) to mile 131 (I-264 / Watterson Expressway)
- I-65 South from mile 136 to mile 133 (US-60 / Eastern Parkway)

This means you cannot access UofL directly from I-65, no matter which direction you're coming from. You can get on I-65 South from campus at Eastern Parkway, but you'll have to detour to get back.

In general, the detours include using I-64 and/or I-264 to get to surface streets, but it all depends on which direction you're coming from and the traffic conditions at that time. Please plan to use an app such as Waze or Google Maps to navigate you the best way to and from UofL.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is currently hosting a website dedicated to information on the I-65 shutdown, detours, etc., so we highly recommend using this website to help prepare you for your trip to Louisville: https://i65centralcorridor.com/?fbclid=IwY2xjawTNlxFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETE5MTczZjBIdjdJU1JGam1mc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHom44tBb86k9-_nfKRHkAnvHhkJjVZsULM_dHfS7U3SaUO4p-51YK4NN6KKQ_aem_DYK1szByIFwx2DX8QhJ_gQ

Please let us know if you have questions! We appreciate your understanding and patience.

It's officially LANWAR week!

Here are some general housekeeping reminders to keep the event running smoothly and ensure everyone has a great time at LANWAR.

Equipment:
- Updates - Please download any updates to games and/or software before arriving at LANWAR.
- Bluetooth Devices - Bluetooth keyboards, mice, and headsets may have issues due to the high number of those devices being used in one area. Plan accordingly and consider bringing wired alternatives.
- Power Strips - We mentioned it last week, but we allot 6 PCs on a 20 amp circuit. If you are bringing a PC that needs an excessive amount of power, please message a Staff Member ahead of time so we can accommodate you.

Health and Hygiene:
- Stay Home if You're Sick - If you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of illness, especially a fever or nausea/vomiting, please stay home. The health of all of our attendees is our top priority, and no one wants to end up sick, and you don't want to be "that guy."
- Personal Hygiene - We ask that all attendees practice good hygiene. Please shower, use deodorant, wash your hands, and wear clean clothes to ensure a comfortable atmosphere.

Respectful Conduct:
- Be Considerate - Please be mindful of others. Avoid behaviors that may disrupt or inconvenience others, such as excessive noise or inappropriate conduct. Persistent coughing can be disturbing as well.
- Respect Personal Space - LANWAR is a shared space, so respecting boundaries is very important. This includes keeping your setup within your three feet of space from left to right.
- Sleeping - Sleeping in the hall is prohibited. If you wish to sleep at LANWAR, please use the sleeping room, and refer to our Survival Guide for more info. Please also note that you must pay for and reserve a spot in the sleeping room ahead of time on the website. Sleeping space is very limited as of Monday 7/20.

If you have questions, please message a Staff Member on Discord or check out our Survival Guide: https://lanwar.com/survival-guide/

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation in keeping this an enjoyable event for all!

Four days, gamers!

We take security super seriously here at LANWAR. Here are some general reminders, along with a link to view the full thing on our Survival Guide. In general, if you see something, say something to a staff member!

We have security cameras everywhere throughout the event, running 24/7, in both the BYOC hall and the sleeping space. Our Staff Members also do random walkthroughs, and it's not uncommon for the campus police to show up. These help protect the event, but you are still responsible for keeping your stuff safe. Here are some tips! Bring small items such as wallets, phones, or keys with you if you get up. Make sure your items are labelled with your name, an identifying mark, and/or a way to contact you. Additionally, wear your badge the entire event so that we know you're supposed to be at LANWAR and can ensure that no one random is walking through. Finally, if you find something, bring it to Lost & Found at our Concessions area, and if you have lost something, ask there too!

Five days until LANWAR 76 kicks off!

We want to remind attendees about network and power. Every player will have a 1G port connection at their seat. We also run a local LAN cache that stores popular games from Steam, Battle.net, Riot, Epic, and more, which allows attendees to install and update games quickly without interrupting Internet connection.

Additionally, we run up to six gaming PCs per 20-amp circuit, which ensures stable and sufficient power for attendees. Each attendee will have one power plug and should plan to bring a power strip to go into that plug for your PC, monitor(s), and anything else. Our setup is designed to handle standard gaming rigs, but if you have a rig that takes a lot of power, please contact a Staff Member on Discord before LANWAR 76 so that we can plan accordingly.

Some warnings: do not daisy-chain power strips. You will pop a circuit, and everyone will know you did it. Finally, we do not allow devices such as external speakers, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), or other high-draw devices to be plugged into our power grid. Refer to the banned items list for more details.

Less than one week until LANWAR 76 begins! We hope you're as excited as we are. Here's the semiannual parking graphic to help you plan your trip. Please plan to unload your stuff at the drop-off freight elevator and immediately move your car. University of Louisville is very strict about parking along the side of the building or next to the train tracks. As usual, you have a few different parking options.

Option 1 (suggested) - Full Event Parking Pass ($24 total): buy a parking pass at the parking office (open M-F 8am-5pm) for the full event and park in the Floyd Street Garage, badging in through the South entrance. Do not park in spaces marked with a Red sign or you will be towed.

Option 2 - Daily Garage Parking ($12/day): Park in the Floyd Street Garage, getting a ticket from the North entrance's ticket kiosk. You'll get a ticket when you arrive and pay when you leave. Credit card only.

Option 3 - Surface Lots ($6/day for Thurs & Fri, free Sat & Sun): Purchase a printable parking permit online and park in any Blue, Yellow, or Green surface lot around campus. Do not park in Red lots. Surface lots are a further walk but will save you money.

We know figuring out parking can be confusing, so please reach out to a Staff Member with any questions!
