Sovereign Grace Music Over 35 years of producing Christ-exalting songs and training for the Church from our local churches

Sovereign Grace Music has been producing songs and training for congregational worship for thirty-plus years. Our goal is to provide local churches with new songs characterized by biblical truth and passion that honors God. While our lyrics cover many Scriptural topics, we continually return to God’s glory revealed in Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross—the gospel. The Savior transformed our hearts and lives, and we can’t help singing about what is “of first importance” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Like Charles Wesley, we wish we had “a thousand tongues to sing our great Redeemer’s praise.” We pray the songs we write will produce the same desire in you and your church for the glory of God. Every musician and vocalist is a gift God has placed in your congregation on purpose, and he gave them for a specific task: to serve the voices of the people in the room. The congregation is the primary instrument on a Sunday morning, and the band exists to help them sing: to lead them clearly, carry them confidently, and then get out of the way! When musicians understand that their role is to support the church's singing, it changes how they play, what they play, and why they play it.

It's easy to walk away from a Sunday evaluating our worship by what we brought to it. The band sounded good or didn't. Our hearts felt engaged or they felt cold. And without realizing it, we start to think God's pleasure in our singing rises and falls with our performance.

But the gospel tells us something better. Our songs don't reach the Father on the strength of our skill, our sincerity, or our passion. They reach him through a Savior whose single sacrifice has perfected for all time those who draw near through him (Heb. 10:14). Peter says our spiritual sacrifices are "acceptable to God through Jesus Christ" (1 Pet. 2:5).

That frees us in two directions. On our best days, we have no reason for pride, because our finest offering still needed a mediator. On our worst days, we have no reason for despair, because a weak voice and a distracted heart are brought to God by a perfect High Priest. What amazing news!
