I'm headed to the Pacific Northwest. It's a place where I feel I heal the most. One of the first times I saw the Pacific Ocean from Washington, everything worldly just melted and I just cried. Today, I got on the plane and as we took I started crying. I am still crying as I write this. My soul is ready.

Last night's poetry meetup didn't go as planned. Things took unexpected turn. The details of what happened are unimportant. But the beauty of how we came together to support each other and rally for those in need is one the most inspiring examples of how love should look. ❤️

“Anyone who says,“Here’s my address, write me a poem,”deserves something in reply. So I’ll tell you a secret instead: poems hide.In the bottoms of our shoes, they are sleeping. They are the shadows drifting across our ceilings the moment before we wake up. What we have to do is live in a way that lets us find them.”

Last night's open mic had all the vibes.
So much of it was inspiring but one poet got me to thinking about this saying. How many times have I made myself small so others wouldn't feel uncomfortable? Countless times but as I have gotten older, those moments have become less. They still creep in occasionally, I am human. But what I realized after Amanda's poem is that when you don't meet people's expectations, they say you're too much. And it's such a blow because they are actually telling you, that you are not enough. Enough of that, go find less.
