We are so grateful for everyone who has supported the Westport Middle School Band so far! Your donations help us offset the many costs associated with providing our students with a high-quality music education, including:

Sheet music
Sectional specialists and clinicians
Instrument purchases and repairs
Reeds, supplies, and classroom materials
Travel expenses for performances and events

The 2026 Westport Middle School Band Donation Fundraiser is LIVE!

We are asking for your help in supporting the WMS Band program! Donations help us offset the many costs associated with providing our students with a high-quality music education, including:

6th Grade Band Families!

Please mark your calendars for our Instrument Try-It Night through Sweetwater Music! Students will have the opportunity to try a variety of band instruments and find the one that is the perfect fit for YOU!

Older students will also have the opportunity to try intermediate-level instruments if they are interested in "stepping up" to a more advanced instrument.

The Louisville Youth Wind Symphony invites you to its Season Two culminating concert on Saturday, May 16, at 3 p.m. in Comstock Hall at the UofL School of Music. Full concert program includes Charles Belsterling’s “March of the Steel Men,” Percy Grainger’s “Children’s March,” David Biedenbender’s “Luminescence,” Omar Thomas’ “Of Our New Day Begun,” the World Premiere of Tyler Taylor’s “Memento No. 4: Fanfare for Amy,” Christopher M. Nelson’s “Wayfaring Stranger,” Charles Ives’ “Finale from Symphony No. 2,” and Omar Thomas’ “Come Sunday.”

The LYWS is led by Artistic Director, Amy Acklin, Associate Directors Kevin Callihan and Scott Cooksey, and a staff of over 30 music professionals. Members of the LYWS proudly represent 23 high schools throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. We hope you can join us in person or online to see the work of these amazing students!

So proud of our Westport Warhawk Band students for going to State for the first time and earning a Distinguished Rating from all judges!!!

Thank you to all of our amazing parents and chaperones for making today possible—we truly couldn’t do it without you. What an incredible way to wrap up the school year!
We have one more performance next Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 PM—hope to see you there!
