Curtis Anthony wire `exclusivity in wire` A self taught wire sculptor, Curtis was born October 26, 1982 in Louisville, Kentucky. It is rare. Each piece is original and unique.

The son of both a retired creative based educator and hard working laborer, Curtis utilizes both skills, beginning in grade school, crafting wire into intricate designs. Artistically, he continues to manifest the skill into a mysteriously peculiar and unique commodity. Over time, as with metamorphosis, his love of peculiarity and influences on popular culture over the years; he begins combining th

e two passions and making them an artform. Curtis Anthony has, and continues to create, some of the most meticulous, elaborate and detailed wire sculptures of objects. It is his treatment of sneakers, however that first brought him to the fore. Through the years, his wire sculpture representations of both popular and iconographic sneakers have made not only an impact on urban culture, but, have clearly chart a course, in terms of breaking the mode of artistic development and expression. Curtis Anthony’s sculpture isn’t alchemy, yet there is a magic to his creating from such an unknown medium. Curtis Anthony is a self taught sculptor who specializes in the medium of wire. He uses 32 to 16 gauge wire of all colours. These may include contemporary sculptures, commissioned works, wearable sculptures, logos, awards, etc. Each piece of art is hand-made and mind designed; meaning that, there are no templates to work from. Other elements can be specifically incorporated into each piece.
