My very first Oscar experience, performing Korean dance in a hanbok! In my 25 years of dancing, I never imagined I would be dancing traditional Korean dance on the Oscar stage!!!!!!!!
It was such a proud and moving moment rehearsing with this beautiful dream cast. We were literally sobbing tears!!!
Thank you & & Unnie for trusting me!!!!! Daeun unnie, — thank you for being so patient with me. I asked so many questions about traditional Korean dance because I wanted to make this performance as authentic as possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
To amazing wardrobe team for recreating the shaman hanbok and respecting all the cultural details DaEun shared so nothing would be disregarded, and for doing everything possible to keep it authentic.
And to the H&M team, all the beautiful dancers, the 북 team, and the Pansori team — some I got to work with again and some for the first time. It was truly a blessing. What a dream team!
