In the gift shops of Venice, crafted from murano glass you can sometimes see finely crafted black cats in various poses. They are made by artisans to pay homage to the ancient and special black cats of Venice.
… And what is a City without the myriad of life that makes it what it is?
Maybe, that’s why I love Venice so much. It’s always been a crossroads with a rich history intertwined throughout its being. And at its heart, cats roaming the cobbled streets. Since the first streets came to be above the ebb and flow of the lagoon - paws have gently padded and paced the bridges and alleys. A fleeting shadow crossing your path. Cats have immortalised themselves in the story of the floating city.

Sono creati da artigiani per rendere omaggio ai gatti neri antichi e speciali di Venezia. … E cos’è una città senza la miriade di vita che la rende ciò che è? Forse è per questo che amo così tanto Venezia. È sempre stata un crocevia con una storia ricca intrecciata in tutto il suo essere. E nel suo cuore, gatti che vagano per le strade acciottolate. Da quando le prime strade sono emerse sopra il flusso e riflusso della laguna, le zampe hanno delicatamente camminato e percorso i ponti e i vicoli. Un’ombra fugace che attraversa il tuo cammino. I gatti si sono immortalati nella storia della città galleggiante.
