Whew! We’ve finally had a chance to catch our breath after Warped Tour Long Beach, and we just wanted to say thank you.

To everyone who came by our set, sang along, danced, skanked, said hello, or even discovered Hepcat for the very first time... you reminded us why we’ve been doing this for all these years.

It was especially incredible seeing so many younger faces in the crowd. Watching people discover ska—or discover our little nook of it—for the first time was something really special.

And to all of you who’ve been with us since the Moon years, the BYO years, the Hellcat years, or even our first show in Rami’s backyard (you know who you are)... thank you for continuing to carry this music with you.

We don’t take any of it for granted.

Much love to the entire Warped Tour family, the organizers, the crew, and every band we shared the day with. The show, the crowd, the experience… was EPIC.

Hope to see you all again very soon.

❤️

Congratulations to the winning bidder—Michael Diggin! 🎸

First and foremost, thank you for your generosity. It was truly an honor to contribute this one-of-a-kind Hepcat guitar to the Punk Rock & Paintbrushes charity auction.

As GN fondly recalls: “When I first started sketching ideas, I kept coming back to one thought: “Everyone Starts Somewhere.” I wanted the guitar to celebrate our beginnings as a band, from rehearsing at Alex’s house by the Venice canals to the smoke drifting upward and spelling HEPCAT. Every little detail on this guitar tells a small piece of our story.”

That’s why we’re especially grateful that the proceeds will benefit Alpha Boys School in Kingston, Jamaica. So many of the musicians who helped shape ska, rocksteady, and reggae came through those doors, and it feels incredibly meaningful to give something back to a place that has given so much to the music we love.

Thank you to everyone who bid, supported the auction, and to Punk Rock & Paint Brushes for bringing artists and musicians together for such a great cause. You rock! 🤘🏾💀🤘🏾

And to the new owner… congratulations! I hope this guitar always reminds you that everyone starts somewhere. ❤️🎸🍻

🎉 Happy SKA-nniversary!🎉 😸

Today marks the 36th anniversary of Hepcat’s very first LA show, in 1990, opening for The Toasters at the infamous Country Club in Reseda. We hit the stage right at 8PM as the doors opened. As our drummer recalls:

“I remember counting off Exodus as soon as the doors opened. I could see people coming in, but I wasn’t sure how the crowd would react to us. It was our first real show in our hometown, out of the comfort of impromptu backyard party shows that some people knew us from. It was also a slower, swingier traditional ‘60s ska tune, molasses syrup compared to the frantic tempo of modern ska arrangements. I saw a few people come right up to the front of the stage with curious glances, then eventually nodding in acknowledgement and getting into the rhythm. It wasn’t more than a dozen people, but I knew at that point that we’d made some fans.”

This original show flyer art (also by ) also presented the debut of what would become the official Hepcat mascot; an icon that would find its way onto flyers, patches, stickers, and even tattoos of loyal fans throughout our career.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your undying love and support over all these years. Without you we would have never made it this far. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️🍻

And now the big question: Who was at this show, and what do you remember from it? Tell us in the comments below!
